Your YouTube videos are already watched by many people, and you get new subscribers every day. By now, maybe you are starting to think about how to make money from these videos quickly and easily. YouTube offers a program called YouTube Partners that helps you increase your revenue and subscribers. To become a YouTube partner, start by registering your account in the program. After that, earn money through the program and manage the channels you have so you can get more subscribers and earn significant income.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Registering an Account with the Program
Step 1. Find out if you are eligible for the program
To qualify, your channel must have been viewed at least 10,000 times. In addition, you must be at least 18 years of age to use the payment system set by YouTube and earn. If you are under 18, you can add a family account to the payment system by asking a parent or friend over 18 to register an account.
You must also reside in the country enrolled in the program. The YouTube Partner Program is available in approximately 20 countries. You can find a list of countries that are enrolled in this program via the YouTube website:
Step 2. Enable monetization status on YouTube account
Start by logging into your YouTube account first. After that, select the account icon and click the “Creator Studio” button. Select “Channel” > Status features” in the displayed menu. Locate the “Monetization” tab and click on “Enable”.
Step 3. Agree to the terms of the YouTube Partners program
Read the text carefully so that you understand the terms and conditions that apply. Click "Accept" after you read and agree to the terms.
- As part of the deal, you must follow the terms of a good YouTube community and have a positive status. This means that you need to create original content that doesn't use music, photos, or content created by others (especially without permission).
- Review YouTube's community guidelines to ensure your channel doesn't violate any applicable regulations on the YouTube website:
Step 4. Specify monetization options
You will get three monetization options: “Overlay In-Video Ads”, “TrueView In-Stream Ads”, and “Videos Contain a Product Placement”. Ads of type “Overlay In-Video” will be displayed on the banner in the video window when the video is playing. Meanwhile, in the “TrueView In-Stream” and “Videos Contain a Product Placement” options, a short ad will play before the video starts. However, no matter what monetization options you set, banner ads will automatically appear on the YouTube channel page.
- You must make at least one option. You can choose from three options if you want to maximize your ad revenue.
- You can always adjust the type of ads shown on the channel in the future, or show ads on certain videos on the channel.
Step 5. Click “Monetize My Videos” to confirm program registration
It's in the lower-left corner of the window.
Step 6. Wait for YouTube to accept the program opt-in application
YouTube usually accepts requests as long as the registered channels comply with the defined community guidelines. You usually get approval immediately after confirming your status as a YouTube partner. In addition, the status of “Partner Verified” will also be displayed on your YouTube account. The selected ads will also be shown on your channel and videos so you can start earning money through the monetization program.
If you are not accepted for the program, the videos you upload may contain content that is considered non-original. You may also upload content that contains elements prohibited by YouTube, such as sex, violence, and hate. Try deleting videos that were not accepted and re-registering an account with the program
Part 2 of 3: Earn Money Through Programs
Step 1. Create an AdSense account under YouTube account
To earn money from the YouTube Partner program, you must have an AdSense account. You must also be at least 18 years of age to create an AdSense account. Once you are accepted into the partner program, you will be directed to create an AdSense account through your YouTube account.
- You can register several different YouTube accounts through the same AdSense account.
- If you're under 18, you'll need to ask a family member or friend who's at least 18 to create an AdSense account so they can earn on your behalf.
Step 2. Provide your email address and billing information
To create an AdSense account, you will need to enter the email address associated with your YouTube account. You will also need to enter your full name, home address, and bank account information.
If you ask a parent (or other adult) to register an account, your parent will need to enter the information
Step 3. Sign in to your AdSense account and start earning
Once the account is created, log in and use the account to check the revenue from the videos you upload. If you have a payment issue, you can resolve it through your AdSense account.
If revenue isn't showing in your account, make sure there aren't any pending payments on your account. Payment hold by YouTube is usually caused by billing or location information issues. You may need to upload a tax report to get rid of the payment hold
Part 3 of 3: Managing Profitable Partner Channels
Step 1. Enable monetization on old videos
As part of the YouTube partner program, you can earn revenue from ads placed on older videos in your account. Find the video you want to monetize and click the “$” icon next to the video. After that, click the “Monetize my video” box and specify the type of ad you want to appear on the video.
You can monetize old videos that are still being watched, or videos that you want to re-upload or recapitulate in new videos
Step 2. Use the additional features you get after becoming a YouTube partner
With a verified partner account, you can access features such as live streaming, handpicked video icons, and in-video programming. Use these features to improve channel quality and get more subscribers.
Experiment and try at least one new feature in your videos during the week. You can add new segments for your subscribers and within those segments, you can use features like live streaming to offer new content to viewers
Step 3. Use multiple ads on each video
Try not to have the same type of ad on all videos as this will make the video seem boring or uninteresting. Try using different types of ads for the videos you upload. In the future, you may find out about certain types of ads that you like (or that customers prefer).
You will need to experiment with choosing different ad types for different videos. For example, an ad that plays before the video starts may be better suited to videos that feature a lot of clear, bold images or text, rather than banner ads that can distract viewers
Step 4. Offer a paid subscription once you get 10,000 subscribers
Recently, YouTube announced that a paid subscription feature will be provided to channel partners who have 10,000 subscribers or more. This means, you can earn 0.99 to 4.99 dollars (about 10-50 thousand rupiah) per month from viewers who use your service or subscribe to your channel. In addition, you can also offer special or additional content for paying subscribers to encourage other subscribers to want to subscribe to a paid subscription every month.
