Hair, dust, animal hair and lint are everywhere. Even the cleanest house doesn't escape it, and no vacuum cleaner can suck it out of your clothes. A lint roller is a tool that can help you get rid of it from your clean clothes. If you don't have one, you can make your own.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Creating a Lint Roller
Step 1. Collect the necessary objects
You need:
- Cylindrical object. The best option is a tube made of cardboard, but you can also use dowels (solid cylindrical rods) made of thick wood. Choose a diameter that is long enough because if it is too small, this object cannot be used as a roller.
- Tape or duct tape. You can use any type of tape or duct tape. The closest option to the sticky paper used in most lint rollers sold is masking tape. Width tape is the easiest option to use, but you can actually use any type.
- Scissors (if the tape or duct tape you are using doesn't have the tools to cut it).
Step 2. Pull a little bit of tape or duct tape
Pull about 12.5-15 cm of tape or duct tape. But don't cut it yet.
Step 3. Adhere this tape or duct tape to the roller
After gluing, wrap this tape or duct tape around the tube in the opposite direction (so that the sticky side is outside). You may have to hold the tape or duct tape with your finger at first after you twist it in the opposite direction.
- Leave the end of the tube open. You can hold it at this end.
- If you are using a tape that is not wide, start by attaching the tape to the edge of the tube and each time you wind it, directing the tape to the other side of the tube. Once you reach the other end of the tube, you can wrap the tape in the opposite direction. It's a good idea to make sure that one loop overlaps the other slightly when you wrap this tape to ensure it sticks to the previous layer.
Step 4. Wrap as much tape around the tube as possible
A more effective method is to wind the entire roll of tape directly so that you can use the lint roller for a long time before having to repeat the process again.
Step 5. Use your new lint roller
Clean the cloth you need to clean with this tool. When the outer layer of the appliance is full of dust, lint, hair or fluff, you can peel it off to use a clean layer underneath.
Method 2 of 2: Using Hands as Lint Roller
Step 1. Position your fingers against each other
You will use your hands and nothing else to make the rollers.
Step 2. Wrap the tape around your hands
Make the sticky layer face out.
- You'll probably only wrap the tape around your fingers 1 1/2 to 2 times. You don't have to wrap a lot of tape, you just need a little bit. You definitely don't want the tape to wrap around your hands for a long time, so there's no need to use too much tape.
- Don't twist the tape too tightly (you'll find out why in a moment).
Step 3. Clean the soiled clothes with your hands
The tape will stick to the fabric and twist around your fingers as you move it (so you shouldn't wrap it too tightly).
Step 4. Discard the tape when it is full of dirt
You can repeat this process whenever you need it and it doesn't take much time.
