Parsnips are root crops that are similar to carrots, but have a sweet, nutty taste. The color is cloudy white to pale yellow and has a high vitamin C content. Parsnips can be cooked in a variety of ways to make them soft and sweet, and are often seen in stews. Parsnips can also be enjoyed on their own, or mixed with pumpkin, carrots and other vegetables. - 0.6 kg. parsnip
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Fried Parsnips
- 6 parsnips
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Roasted Parsnips Cover
- 0.9 kg medium-sized parnips
- 2 tablespoons of first-pressed olive oil (extra-virgin olive oil)
- 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons chopped Italian parsley
Step
Method 1 of 4: Baked Parsnips
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF (176ºC)
Step 2. Prepare the parsnips
Cut off the roots and leaf tips of 0.6 kg parsnips. Brush with a vegetable brush as and when with cold water. Peel the parsnips and slice julienne-style, cutting into long thin strips like French fries.
Step 3. Place the parsnips in a non-oiled baking dish
Step 4. Sprinkle cup melted butter on top
Step 5. Add cup of water to the dish
Parsnips should be submerged in water, so that they ripen when the water boils in the oven.
Step 6. Sprinkle the seasoning
Sprinkle parsnips with 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon pepper.
Step 7. Cover the dish and bake the parnips for 45 minutes or until tender
After 35 minutes you can check if it is tender by pricking with a fork.
Step 8. Serve
Enjoy parsnips when they are hot. You can enjoy it on its own or as a complement to meat or vegetables, such as chicken or eggplant.
Method 2 of 4: Fried Parsnips
Step 1. Prepare the parsnips
Cut the roots and leaf tips of 6 parsnips. Brush with a vegetable brush when washed in cold water. Then peel it off and use a knife to quarter the long sides.
Step 2. Soak the parsnips in water in a saucepan
Pot lid.
Step 3. Boil the parsnips over medium-high heat for 10 minutes
Boil until soft. After 7 minutes, you can check by stabbing with a fork. After boiling, drain.
Step 4. Mix the flour and seasoning salt in a plastic bag
Put 1/4 cup all-purpose flour and 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt in a sealed plastic bag and beat until smooth.
Step 5. Dip the parsnips in cup melted butter and place in a bag
To coat the parsnips, shake the bag to coat in the seasoned flour.
Step 6. Heat the remaining butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat
It will take about a minute for the hot butter to sizzle.
Step 7. Add parsnips and cook until golden brown
After 2-3 minutes, flip it over with a spatula so that it cooks evenly on both sides. If it takes time to get soft and golden brown, keep turning or gently turning with a fork until done.
Step 8. Serve
Enjoy the fried parsnips while they are hot. You can use it as a substitute for French fries enjoyed with sandwiches.
Method 3 of 4: Baked Parsnips
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C)
Step 2. Prepare the parsnips
To prepare parsnips, wash 0.9 kg medium parsnips in cold water, peel and cut into 1.3 cm thick diagonals. the result is like an unbalanced medal.
Step 3. Stir the parsnips, olive oil, and salt in a bowl
Combine 0.9 kg medium-sized parsnips, 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, and 1 teaspoon Kosher salt in a bowl.
Step 4. Place the parsnips in a baking dish, spreading them in a single layer
Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons melted butter.
Step 5. Bake the parsnips for 20 minutes
Step 6. Use tongs to flip the parsnips and bake for another 15 minutes
Bake until brown and tender. Then remove from the oven and transfer to a plate.

Season the parsnips with salt and pepper to taste and sprinkle with 2 tsp of chopped Italian parsley.
