On April 21, 2009, Google introduced a tool called Google Profile which allows you to set the entries or information that is displayed when other people search for your name on the internet. Google Profile will place your profile under the name search results if you are one of the best/highest matched entries. Read more on this article to learn how to take advantage of this new feature.
Step
Step 1. Go to a new Google Profile page https://www.google.com/profiles and click "Create my profile"
Step 2. Type in your Google account username and password if you are not already logged in to your account
Step 3. Fill in the first and last name fields
Keep in mind that the entries you enter will change your full name on all Google services you use (eg Gmail). Use a name that can provide appropriate search results, such as the name on your resume.
Step 4. Upload a photo to your profile by clicking the "Change photo" button next to the last name field
Step 5. Complete the mini biodata segment
This segment includes place of birth (or hometown), occupation, and other basic information.
Step 6. Fill the " A little personality " segment with as much detail as you want to show
Step 7. Select the link you want to appear on the profile
These links include links to blogs, Facebook profiles, Myspace, or other sites that are actively used.

Google will detect sites that use your Google account login information automatically. Just click " Add " to use the detected links.
Step 8. Click “Create profile” to save the initial entered information
Step 9. Look for the blue notification entry above the profile and click "Add more info to my profile"
Step 10. Select the contact information tab at the top of the editing page
Step 11. Fill in all relevant contact information and save changes
Step 12. Verify your name to get the verification icon
Step 13. Search your name on Google
Swipe the search results down the page to find a link to your Google profile. For example, the profile for the name "Nick James" used as an example in this article you can see at the bottom of this Google search result.
Tips
- Link your Google profile to other website profiles to increase the visibility of your profile.
- Make sure you select "Display my full name so I can be found in search" on the editing page. Otherwise, the profile cannot be displayed.
- Make your profile a “complete” destination for business owners or other people looking for you so they don't select unwanted search results.
- Add lots of details and photos to your profile to differentiate your profile from others with the same name.
