There are two ways to delete WhatsApp contacts. The first way is to delete the contact number through the phone's contact list, and the other way is to block the contact via WhatsApp.

Method 1 of 2: Deleting a Contact Number
Step 1. Open the phone contact list and find the contact you want to delete
Delete the contact of your choice.
Step 2. Open WhatsApp and visit the contact page
Step 3. Select the "Update" option
The contact will no longer appear in your WhatsApp contact list.
- Please note that this method has a drawback, namely that you will lose the number of the contact you deleted, something you may need at some point in the future.
- If you want to remove someone from your WhatsApp contacts, but want to keep their phone number, use the method below.
Method 2 of 2: Blocking a Contact Number
Step 1. Open WhatsApp and visit the contact page
Step 2. Select the contact you want to delete
Step 3. In the menu of options available for the contact, select the "More" option
- You will see various options, one of which is "Block". WhatsApp will ask you to confirm that you want to block the contact, and you must confirm it.
- When you've blocked someone's contact, they won't be able to see your profile picture, send you messages, or see when you last connected to WhatsApp.
- The good thing about this method is that you can delete a contact from WhatsApp without having to remove the phone number from your phone's contact list.
