Method 1 of 4: Deleting Synced Contacts from Android Device
Step 1. Open Messenger on the Android device
This app is marked by a blue speech bubble icon with a white lightning bolt inside. Usually, you can find this icon on your home screen or app drawer.
- Follow this method if you want to delete all automatically synced Facebook Messenger contacts from your device.
- If you befriend one or more of these contacts on Facebook, you will stay connected to them via Messenger (the user will not be removed from Messenger).
Step 2. Touch the profile photo
This photo is at the top of the screen.
Step 3. Scroll down and tap People (“Friends”)
It's in the middle of the menu.
Step 4. Disable the Sync contacts " option
It's at the top of the screen. If you don't see Off or “Off” under it, touch the option, then slide the switch to the off or “Off” position (grey).
If you do not return to the People or “Friends” menu automatically, touch the back button once
Step 5. Touch Manage Contacts (“Manage Contacts”)
It's at the top of the menu. A list of all contacts uploaded from your phone or tablet will load.

It's in the top-left corner of the list. The page will reload and the words Your imported contacts are being deleted (“Imported contacts are being deleted”) will load. Once the process is complete, Facebook Messenger will no longer automatically add contacts from the device. Also, previously added contacts from the device will be deleted.
Method 2 of 4: Deleting Friends on Facebook
Step 1. Open Messenger on the device

This method requires you to delete friends on Facebook. This means that both of you will no longer be shown on each other's friends lists. If you want to stay friends with him on Facebook, but don't want to chat with him on Messenger, read this method
Step 2. Touch People (“Friends”)
This option is indicated by a two-head icon at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3. Touch All People
It's at the top of the screen. A list of all Messenger contacts will be displayed.

Method 3 of 4: Removing Unfriended Users on Facebook
Step 1. Open Messenger on the device

Step 2. Touch People (“Friends”)

This option is at the top of the screen. A list of all Messenger contacts, including Facebook users you've chatted with via Messenger, will load.
Step 4. Touch the i″ icon in the circle next to the user you want to delete
You may need to touch the outline icon of the gray business card instead of the circled “i” button, depending on which version of Messenger you're using.
Step 5. Touch Remove (“Remove”)
The user in question will no longer appear in the Messenger contact list.
- You will only see the Remove option if the user is not friends with you on Facebook.

Method 4 of 4: Blocking Messages from Contacts

Step 4. Swipe the screen and touch Block (“Block”)
This option is at the bottom of the menu.
Step 5. Slide the Block Messages from switch to the on position or “On”
As long as the switch is on, contacts won't know when you're online. It also can't reach you via Messenger. His name will remain in your contacts list, unless you remove it from your friends list on Facebook.
