Resetting the D-Link router (router) can be very useful if you forget the router username and password, or if the router requires you to clear all settings for troubleshooting. The D-Link barrier itself can be reset at any time by simply pressing the reset button.

Step 4. Release the button for 10 seconds

The barrier will turn on again and the reset process will be completed in approximately 15 seconds. After that, your shield returns to factory defaults when the "WLAN" light on the front of the shield stops flashing. The username will revert to "admin," and the password will no longer be required to log into the barrier.

Tips

  • Reset the D-Link barrier if you can't remember the barrier user name and password, or if the login identification no longer works. By doing a reset, the barrier will return to its original settings, and you can also create a new username and password.
  • If you've ever changed the settings of the barrier -- such as frequency or channel -- and the bridge can no longer be connected to the Internet, revert it to its original settings. In some cases, the changes you make can cause Internet connectivity problems.
