This wikiHow teaches you how to connect Bluetooth speakers to your Android smartphone or tablet. You can access Bluetooth settings via the pull-down menu or the device settings menu (“Settings”).

Step 1. Turn on the Bluetooth speaker and enable pairing mode
Make sure the speakers are plugged into a power outlet or have batteries. Turn on the device and enable pairing mode.
- Although the method of activating pairing mode is slightly different for each device, you usually need to press and hold a certain button on the device to activate pairing mode.
- Refer to the user manual or the information on the Bluetooth speaker manufacturer's website to find out how to enable pairing mode if you can't find a dedicated button on your device.
Step 2. Swipe the top of the device screen downwards with two fingers
The quick access menu will load. The five most frequently used quick access options are loaded when you swipe down on the screen with one finger. When the screen is dragged further (or pulled using two fingers), a full list of quick access menu icons is displayed.
Step 3. Touch and hold the Bluetooth icon
The Bluetooth icon looks like a large sharp-angled “B” with brackets behind it. The Bluetooth settings menu will be displayed after that.
- If you don't find the Bluetooth icon in the quick access menu, swipe the icon list towards the left to display the next icon page.
- You can also access Bluetooth settings by opening the device settings menu (“Settings”), then tapping the “ Connection " or " Wireless and Network ”, depending on the phone or tablet model. After that, select " Bluetooth " If you don't see the “Connection” or “Network” option in the main settings menu, touch “ More Settings ”.
Step 4. Touch + Pair new device
It's near the top of the Bluetooth settings menu. Your phone or tablet will automatically scan for other Bluetooth devices nearby.
- On Samsung Galaxy devices, move on to the next step.
- If you don't see the Bluetooth speaker in the device list, touch “ Refresh " (or " Scan ” on Samsung Galaxy) to restart the scan. Make sure the speakers are still in pairing mode.
Step 5. Touch the name of the Bluetooth speaker in the Bluetooth settings window of the phone or tablet
When your phone or tablet finds a speaker, its name will appear in the " Available devices " list. Touch the speaker name once you see it in the list.
