This wikiHow teaches you how to edit where an audio file starts and stops using iMovie. This article is for an English-speaking iPhone or iPad.

Step 1. Open iMovie on your iPhone or iPad
The iMovie icon looks like a white star and a purple camera.
Step 2. Touch Projects
This page will display a list of saved projects.
Step 3. Touch the project you want to edit
Find and open the project you want to edit in the project list.
Alternatively, you can touch options Create Project at the top left of the screen to create a new project.
Step 4. Touch the Edit button
You can find this button under the name of the video project. This button will open the project on the editing page.
Step 5. Touch the video trimmer timeline at the bottom of the screen
The video project timeline is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
When touched, the entire video section is selected and highlighted with a yellow border
Step 6. Touch Detach Audio at the bottom of the screen
This option is located between Split and Duplicate, above the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. This option will separate the audio file from the video.
- The audio track is represented by a green or blue bar below the video clip.
- If there is no audio track, you can touch the " +" at the top right of the screen to add an audio track to the video.
Step 7. Touch the audio track below the video track
The audio track will be selected and highlighted with a yellow border.
Step 8. Touch and drag the beginning of the audio track
You can drag and move the beginning of the audio track to the point where you want the audio to start playing.
The yellow bar in the left corner of the audio track indicates the beginning of the audio
Step 9. Swipe the audio track to the left
Swipe left until a yellow bar appears at the end of the audio track.
Step 10. Touch and drag the end of the audio track
You can drag and move the end of the video to the point where you want the audio to stop.
Step 11. Touch Done at the top left of the screen
It's in the top-left corner of the screen. This button will save the edits to your video project.
