If you play Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed or LeafGreen on Android using John GBA, chances are you don't know how to trade Pokémon. This article will help you.
Step
Step 1. Download MyBoy Free
Don't do it if you already have one. Download if you have John GBA or Lite version.
Step 2. Open the John GBA app
Go into Settings Other Settings - and turn off "Auto Load State". This is especially important if you are using John GBA.
Step 3. Load the game save file using MyBoy
Open MyBoy and this app will load all the saved games in your phone.
Step 4. Load one of the GBA versions of Pokémon on MyBoy
Step 5. Go to the Trade Center
If you already have more than 2 Pokémon, you can trade them for another account. Visit the Pokémon Center (except the one near the Pokémon League), go up to the second floor and go to the Trading Entrance.
Step 6. Talk to the girl at the entrance
Press A to talk to him. You will be given the option to save the game. Save your game if you wish, and a message will appear.
Step 7. Press the "Link Local" button on the phone
Press the button to open your phone's menu (usually near the Home Key), select the Link Local option (in the extension menu) if you want to link it with saved files for other Pokémon games on your phone.
Step 8. Open another GBA Pokémon game
The related game will load on the phone.
Step 9. Repeat steps 5 and 6 with this new game
Another message will appear when you talk to the girl at the entrance.
Step 10. Switch games
Use the button used to open the menu in step 7 to select Switch Game. After that, select and load your first game.
Step 11. Press A to accept the following messages
You will enter the Trade Center. Otherwise, switch games again and press A to confirm the message in another game.
Step 12. Sit near the computer
Use the directional arrows to move and sit in the chair facing the computer.
Step 13. Switch games and repeat the previous step
Step 14. Barter
With one game, select the Pokémon you want to trade.
Step 15. Switch games and choose another Pokémon to trade with
Select a Pokémon to trade with the pre-selected Pokémon.
Step 16. Select "Yes" to barter
After that, switch games and repeat this step.
Step 17. View the cutscene
Your Pokémon will switch accounts with a short animated cutscene.
Step 18. Exit
Once the barter is complete, you can repeat it as you wish with the previous steps. Otherwise, exit by pressing the cancel button in the lower right corner of the screen. You will be asked to change the game and repeat this step. After that, just exit. A message will appear saying that the linking has been discontinued. Confirm this message to exit.
Step 19. Save your game
Save the game by pressing Start and selecting "Save".
Step 20. Close MyBoy (optional)
If you are using John GBA, save the game and select Close using the menu for Link Local. The version will be closed. Repeat with the other game.
Step 21. Load in John GBA
Here the Auto Load State step will be very useful. If you leave it on, when you load your version of Pokémon, the program will load the last saved state on John GBA, and not the game ROM saved on MyBoy. You simply reload the game and the Pokémon will already be bartered.
Tips
- You can't trade FireRed/LeafGreen for Ruby/Emerald/Sapphire before getting the National Dex in FireRed/LeafGreen. For Ruby/Emeral/Sapphire games, PokeDex will become National Dex after you trade with FireRed/LeafGreen.
- Certain Pokémon evolve only when bartered.
- Pokémon that have been traded from other games gain 1.5 times more experience (experience) than regular Pokémon. When this Pokémon is traded back to its original owner, the experience gained is back to normal. Pokémon traded in different game languages gain 1.7 times more experience).
Warning
- You can't trade on the same game because you only have one save file per game. For example, you can't trade between Pokémon Ruby and Ruby (on your own phone) but you can trade between Ruby and Sapphire or any other Pokémon game on the GBA.
- Some Pokémon won't obey you until they earn a certain number of badges (badges).
