PPSSPP is one of the most functional PSP emulators available on the market, and you can even use it on Android devices. Keep in mind that to run most games at a decent speed, you'll need a newer Android device. Older Android devices may be too slow to run the game properly. If you have custom firmware already installed on your PSP, you can open the PSP disc and copy it to your Android device.

Part 1 of 3: Installing PPSSPP
Step 1. Open Google Play Store
PPSSPP is a PSP emulator, and can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store. You don't need any additional files (files) or applications (except games).
Step 2. Search for “ppsspp” on Google Play Store
You will see several options in the search results.
Step 3. Choose the “PPSSPP” option
There is an application "PPSSPP Gold", but its function is the same as the standard version. Download the free version first to see if it works on your device, then you can buy the Gold version if you want to support the developer of the program.
Step 4. Press “Install” to download and install the emulator
This is the only application needed to start playing game files. You don't need to download a BIOS file like other emulators.
Part 2 of 3: Getting Game Files
Step 1. Download ISO or CSO game files from various sources on the internet
If you don't want to get rid of your games, which will require installing custom firmware on your PSP, you can download ISO files from various torrent sites. Downloading games that are not yours is illegal, so do it at your own risk. Look for game files on your favorite torrent site to download. The game's format can be CSO, which is a compressed ISO file. Both CSO and ISO files can work in PPSSPP.

Step 2. Install custom firmware on your PSP if you want to move your own game files
By installing a custom firmware, you can create an ISO file of any UMD or game you own. Installing custom firmware is a fairly complicated process. This process is briefly described below, but you can also visit this article for more detailed instructions.
- Update your PSP version to version 6.60.
- Download PRC-Cfix3 on your computer. This is a program for installing custom firmware for the PSP.
- Copy the downloaded folder to the GAME folder on the PSP memory stick
- Run "Pro Update" in your PSP game menu to install custom firmware".
- Run "CIPL_Flasher" to make the custom firmware permanent. That way, you don't have to run a custom firmware reset every time you restart your PSP.
Step 3. Enter the UMD you want to transfer to the PSP
You can convert a UMD disc to an ISO file, which can then be copied to your Android device and played on PPSSPP.
Step 4. Press the “Select” button on the PSP main menu
A special PRO VSH custom firmware menu will open.
Step 5. Select the “USB DEVICE” option and change it to “UMD Disc“
This will make the disc appear on the computer (instead of the Memory Stick) when the PSP is connected to the computer.
Step 6. Connect the PSP to the computer
Use a USB cable to connect the computer to the PSP.
Step 7. Open the “Settings” menu in the PSP main menu and select “Initialize USB Connection.”
" A notification will appear that your PSP is connected to the computer. Usually, the correct folder will open automatically. Otherwise, go to your computer and select a drive whose title is a jumble of numbers and letters.
Step 8. Click and drag the ISO file from your PSP to your computer
Copying time may take a few minutes. You now have a full copy of UMD on your computer in the form of an ISO file.
Part 3 of 3: Playing the Game
Step 1. Connect Android device to computer
You will need to transfer the PSP ISO file to Android storage so that PPSSPP can read it.
Step 2. Open your Android on the computer
You'll find Android in the Computer/This PC window.
Step 3. Create a folder called "PSP", then create a subfolder "GAME
" This will emulate the same folder structure from your PSP.
Step 4. Copy the ISO file into the GAME folder on your Android
The copying process may take some time.
Step 5. Disconnect your Android from the computer
Once you've finished copying the ISO file to your PSP/GAME folder, you can disconnect Android from your computer.
Step 6. Run PPSSPP
You will be greeted by the PPSSPP main menu.
Step 7. Press "PSP" then "GAME" to see all your ISO files
Any game files that you copied from your computer will be listed here.
Step 8. Tap a game to start
The game will start reading, and if your Android device is powerful enough it should run smoothly. You can control the game using the buttons on the screen.
