Candles can not only illuminate the room with warm rays, but can also brighten up the room with a variety of unique and beautiful touches. Using glue, some decorations, and lots of creativity, you can turn an ordinary candle into the center of attention on your table.

Method 1 of 4: Decorating Candles with Glitter
Step 1. Cover the areas you don't want to glitter with paper

Method 2 of 4: Painting the Candles
Step 1. Clean the wax with rubbing alcohol to remove dust
Moisten a lint-free cloth with rubbing alcohol. Use it to wipe the wax surface to prepare it for painting.
Step 2. Blot the wax with wax varnish and dry overnight
Wet a makeup sponge with wax varnish and soap, then pat it on the wax surface evenly and smoothly. Leave overnight.
- The varnish prepares the wax before painting so that the paint adheres well and protects it from wear and tear.
- You can buy this varnish online or at a craft store.
Step 3. Mark the areas you don't want to paint with tape or rubber bands
If you don't want to paint the entire wax, you can create a strip or design using masking tape or an elastic band. Press the paint or rubber band until it is flush with the wax surface so that it is easy to paint.

Method 3 of 4: Decorating Candles with Pictures on Tissue Paper
Step 1. Print the photo onto white tissue paper
Cut a sheet of white or transparent tissue that is slightly smaller than the sheet of printed paper. Then, glue it onto the printing paper, with the glossy side facing down. Load the paper into the printer so that the image prints on the tissue paper side.
- Most printers turn the paper over before printing, so you need to place the paper with the tissue side down. Check the printer's user manual to be sure.
- You can transfer a photo, illustration, or even a few words onto the candle.
Step 2. Crop the image
Use scissors to cut the image out of the tissue paper. Leave a light border around the edges, and make sure the image isn't too big to be completely on the side of your candle.
Step 3. Place the image on the wax and wrap wax paper over it
Wrap the image around the candle so that it fits snugly on all sides. Then, cover with wax paper tightly over the entire wax.
Make sure there are no creases in the wax paper

Choose a ribbon or knitting yarn that matches the color of the wax, then wrap it around the wax in a striped pattern like candy bars. Slightly angle the ribbon so that it wraps around the candle diagonally and looks more professional.

Use hot glue or Mod Podge to hold the tape so it doesn't move on the wax. Cut it while burning the candle so it looks neat.
Step 5. Glue the shells and sand for a beach look
Use a paintbrush to apply Mod Podge or liquid glue to the lower half or third of the wax. Roll it on the beach sand, and let it dry overnight. When you're done, glue the shells just above the sand, or tie them with small string or twine.
- This method works best with plain white or cream candles.
