This wikiHow teaches you how to play a DVD or Blu-ray disc using an Xbox One. In order to play DVDs or Blu-rays on Xbox One, you must first install the Blu-ray app on Xbox One.
Step
Step 1. Press the Home button on the Xbox
The button has the Xbox logo in the center of the controller. Doing so will display the home screen.
Step 2. Select Store
This is the last tab at the top of the screen. Point the controller at the option, then press the A button to select it.
Step 3. Select Search
It's a tab at the top of the screen with a magnifying glass in it.
Step 4. Type Blu-ray in the search field
Press the letters on the screen using the controller.
Step 5. Press the Menu button
The button has an image in the form of 3 vertical lines located to the right of the center of the controller. This will bring up a list of apps that match your search.
Step 6. Select Blu-ray Player
This app has a blue icon with the Blu-ray Disc logo on it.
Step 7. Select Install
This option is below the Blu-ray logo on the app's main page. The Blu-ray Player application will be installed so that you can play DVDs or Blu-rays on your XBox One.
Step 8. Insert the DVD/Blu-ray disc into the XBox One machine
The disc drive is in the form of a black slit that sits on the left side of the front of the Xbox One machine. After the disc is inserted, the Blu-ray Player Application will automatically run and play the DVD/Blu-ray.
