Rooting is a kind of jailbreaking version of Android on your mobile device. This article will teach you to root a Samsung Galaxy S2 running Jelly Bean (4.1.1 and 4.1.2). Be very careful when downloading ROMs-make sure you download files that are specific to your Galaxy S2 version, or you risk not being able to use your phone.
Step

Step 1. Make sure you have installed CWM Recovery

Step 2. Turn off your phone
Then, hold Volume Down, Center Home, and Power. Keep holding the button until you see a warning screen (about 3 seconds).

Step 3. Press Volume Up
Then, connect the Galaxy S2 to your computer.

Step 4. Download Jeboo Kernel package and ODIN.
Extract the ODIN file, but leave the kernel file as.tar.

Step 5. Double click ODIN3v1.85
exe.
This will run the program. Then you will see a box highlighted in yellow with COM and a number in it.

Step 6. Press the "PDA" button
It's located in the checklist under the start button.

Step 7. Select the Jeboo Kernel file
tar that you just downloaded.

Step 8. Press "Start
The kernel will start flashing. Wait until you see the word "PASS!", then let your Galaxy S2 restart.

Step 9. Download the Superuser Zip file
If you can, download it directly to your phone. If you can't, you can copy it from your computer.

Step 10. Turn off your phone
Hold Volume Up, Center Home, and Power until your phone enters CWM Recovery (about 20 seconds).

Step 11. Select "Install Zip
This is the second option on the list.

Step 12. Click "Choose zip from Internal sdcard
"If you are transferring a zip from your computer, select "Choose zip from sdcard."

Step 13. Locate the Superuser file
Most likely the file is in your downloads folder.

Step 14. Select "CWM-SuperSU-v0.00
zip . This will install the su binary and Superuser to your galaxy S2.

Step 15. Confirm by clicking "Yes" when prompted

Step 16. Reboot
You will find an application called SuperSU. The first time you use it, you have to give it permission via a popup window. Then, you will be able to continue. Enjoy your freshly rooted phone!
