Are you preparing a special dinner of chicken meat? Or do you want to serve up a quick and delicious chicken dish? Grilled chicken might be an alternative solution for you. Grilling chicken can be done quickly and easily. Follow the steps below to become a master at baking.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Preparing the Chicken for Grilling
Step 1. Defrost the chicken if your chicken has been frozen
The best way to do this is to transfer them from the freezer to the refrigerator 24 hours before you want to cook them. But if someone is too busy to do it, we of course have another way that is shorter but no less effective.
Step 2. Wash your chicken
Hold the chicken under cold running water. Make sure the water should be cold because hot or warm water will allow bacteria to multiply.
Step 3. Give your chicken some extra flavour
There is no limit in the method and choice of flavors when preparing your chicken dish. Try to be imaginative and creative in processing your chicken!
- Oil and season the chicken. Apply cooking oil such as olive oil on the chicken so that the texture of the chicken will be crispier on the outside. Then add various spices such as oregano, lemon, onion, or other spices to add flavor to your chicken dish. You can also buy various kinds of seasonings that are available in the market. To coat your chicken perfectly, pour the oil and seasonings into a large plastic bag then put your chicken in, cover the plastic and shake it around so the spices can stick to the chicken.
- Marinate chicken. Pour the seasoning and sauce mixture you will be marinating into a large bowl. Then put the chicken in a bowl. Leave it for about 2-8 hours in the refrigerator. The longer it takes, of course the spices will become more pervasive.
- Soak the chicken in the salt solution. Combine coarse salt and warm water, as well as other spices to taste. Dip the marinated chicken in this brine and leave it for 2-8 hours in the refrigerator. This will add a nice salty taste to your chicken.
Step 4. Flatten the chicken
This process aims to make your chicken meat cook evenly when cooked. The thinner, the better.
Part 2 of 2: Grilling Chicken
Step 1. Place the foil under the grill grid
Do this before starting to bake. This is so that during cooking, the oil and seasoning from the chicken will fall onto the foil without contaminating your grill, making it easier to clean.
Step 2. Preheat the toaster oven to 180 degrees F
Step 3. Place the baking tray over the heat source of the oven
The ideal distance between the chicken and the heat source is 12.7 - 1.24 cm.
- If you don't have a baking tray, you can use a cake pan.
- If you're using a toaster at the bottom of the oven, place the baking tray on the bottom rack.
Step 4. Roast Chicken
Bake for 10 minutes for small pieces and 15 minutes for thicker pieces.
Step 5. Remove the chicken when it is cooked on one side
Turn the chicken over and apply a little oil on the uncooked part. This will ensure the chicken is golden brown and crispier in texture.
Use a spatula, not a fork, to flip the chicken. Using a spatula will prevent the juice and oil from escaping from the chicken
Step 6. Continue baking for 5 to 10 minutes
You need to remember that too long roasting will dry out your chicken.
Step 7. Check the internal temperature of the chicken
Use a meat thermometer to check the temperature. The ideal internal temperature is 180 Degrees F for chicken thighs, 170 Degrees F for breasts, and 165 degrees F for chicken slabs.
- If you don't have a meat thermometer, take your chicken out and cut it into small pieces. If the chicken is pinkish-gray, it means your chicken is still raw. Make sure your chicken is a slightly off white.
- You should also check the color of the juice that comes out of the chicken. When it is ripe, the juice will be clear.
Step 8. Turn off the grill
Remove your chicken when it is fully cooked.
Step 9. Spread the seasoning and sauce on the chicken again (according to your taste)
Use a spice rub or a spoon to apply the spices.
Tips
- Do not throw away the chicken skin when grilling because the chicken skin is useful for keeping the chicken meat moist. You can remove the skin after cooking.
- Teriyaki sauce is a great choice for marinating.
