New Minecraft players will want to know how to prevent evil mobs from getting into their homes. This is what the door is for! Wooden doors can be opened and closed by you, but not by mobs. Prevent mobs from entering your home for good.

Method 1 of 3: Assembling the Wooden Door
Step 1. Make a wooden door from 6 wooden planks
Make a wooden plank by placing wood in the crafting menu.
If an assembled bench is not available, use 4 planks placed in a square box to make one
Step 2. Place 6 wooden planks, 3 pieces high and 2 pieces wide in the crafting menu
This will create one wooden door. Note that you can change the appearance of a wooden door based on the wood used. Therefore you can use oak doors, spruce doors, birch doors, or wood doors.
Method 2 of 3: Assembling the Iron Door
Step 1. Make a metal door using 6 iron ingots
There are two options for getting iron bars:
- Assembling: assembling iron ingots from a single iron block.
- Melting: melting iron ingots from a block of iron ore.
Step 2. Arrange the iron bars in the same shape as the wooden planks, filling the two vertical columns
You now have an iron door.
Method 3 of 3: Placing Doors and Other Objects
Step 1. Place the door on the side of the door block to be built
If you stand outside the block, the door will be built outside the block. If you stand inside the block, a door will be built on the inside of the block.
Step 2. Place two doors side by side to make a double door
Two adjacent doors will automatically turn into double doors.
Step 3. Use the pressure plate to open the door automatically
Pressure plates placed on either side of the door will automatically open and close the door as you pass through. If you're worried about mobs, just place the pressure plate on the inside of the door.
Wooden doors can also be opened and closed easily by right-clicking on the door
Step 4. Understand that the iron door will not open with a right click
It was impossible to open the iron door without a mechanism nearby. Keep this in mind to prevent mobs and other griefers from getting into your personal space.
- Make a redstone pattern on the door, and use the lever to open it.
- Place the pressure plate on the hinges in the metal door to open it.
Tips
- An iron door can be made in the same way using an iron bar. Although the iron door can't be destroyed by any level zombie, it can't be opened with your hands either. This door requires Redstone current to open it.
- Wooden doors can also be opened with Redstone currents, though not necessary. This means you can use a button, lever, or pressure plate to open it.
- You can use Anna and Elsa's mobs to open iron doors by hand if you don't have Redstone current. It takes 5 ceiling block spaces and 7x7 (or more) for them to appear. No Anna/Elsa eggs (in Minecraft!)
Warning
- On high difficulty, zombies can break wooden doors. If you hear a knocking sound, make sure you kill the Zombie immediately.
- Make sure the pressure plate is inside the housing, as the mob can trigger it and open the door if the plate is placed outside.
