Do you want to make a flower? You can make a flower that looks realistic, or one of the real flowers. These flowers make wonderful gifts for Mother's Day, a romantic setting, or as decorations or learning tools. Some methods are more suitable for children or adults, so be sure to read all the options. Get started with step 1 below!
Step
Method 1 of 3: Daisies From Cardboard
Step 1. Cut the base for the grass
Take a longer sheet of green cardboard and fold it in half (often referred to as hot-dog style). On the side with the closed edge, make cuts parallel to the side with the open edge up to 3.8 cm from the edge. Make varying widths of spacing between the pieces, with most spacing close and some spacing wider (this will form the grass and stem sections).
If you are doing this with small children, you can pre-mark the paper on the part to be cut with a 2.5 cm border along the side with the open edge leaving an even spacing of 2.5 cm for cutting
Step 2. Shape the grass base
Starting at the uncut base, roll the paper into a circle or tube and glue it to the end.
Step 3. Make the flower parts
Draw flower shapes on cardboard with different colors. Then, cut the flower shape. You can also add decoration to the center of the flower by attaching balls of wool, buttons, or other objects to the center of the flower.
If desired, you can also create flowers that look more realistic
Step 4. Glue the flower to the stem
Using glue or insulation, attach the flowers to the more spaced sections of the green cardboard (stems).
Step 5. Enjoy
You can place flowers in pots filled with nuts to make them look more realistic and complete. You can also form a bouquet by making the handles out of rolled paper.
Method 2 of 3: Poppies From Crepe Paper
Step 1. Prepare your paper
Take a red crepe paper, wax paper, or parchment paper and cut it into a circle the size you want the poppy flower to be. Once you have a circle shape, a quick way to make petals is to cut out rounded curves at three points of the paper. You will need 2 circle shapes for each flower you want to make.
Step 2. Create a petal appearance
Press your finger on the center of the circle and pull the edges of the circle up until it forms a cup-like shape. Squeeze, roll, and do other movements that will form wrinkles, starting from the base to the edges of the petals. Flatten the circle again when you feel the paper has wrinkled enough.
Step 3. Cut out the petals
Cut out from the round indent you made to about two-thirds of the circle.
Step 4. Glue the petals together
Apply a little glue to the center of the circle and attach it with another circle shape, the petals that look wobbly will make the flower look more real and full.
Step 5. Make the center of the flower
Use a small square or circle made of green and black tissue paper, repeating the same creasing process to create the center of the flower.
Step 6. Glue the center of the flower
Place the black tissue paper on top of the green tissue paper and stick it. Then, attach them to the center of the flower.
Step 7. Add pollen
Use white paint and make white dots on black tissue paper to give the poppy look a final touch.
Method 3 of 3: Roses From Coffee Filter Paper
Step 1. Fold the coffee filter paper into eight sections
Fold the round coffee filter paper into eight sections by folding it in half three times. Fold the other 7 coffee filter papers in the same way.
Step 2. Fold some coffee filter paper in different ways
You will also need to fold the 2 coffee filter papers in a slightly different way. Fold the paper in half twice and then, in addition to doing the same thing again, do the last fold into three parts.
Step 3. Shape the petals
Using scissors, cut a triangle shape at the top corner of the paper so that it will be round. This is the method used to create the basic petal shape. Cut one piece of paper, then use it as a pattern to cut the rest of the paper. When you're done, unfold it into a semicircle and cut it in half. Set aside the paper folded into thirds, as this will be used to form the center of the rose.
Step 4. Start with the flower bud
Starting with the petals that were previously folded into three parts, take one part at a time and fold the bottom. Glue the folded dot with the object you will be using as the flower stalk, then wrap it around the stem. Add the rest of the petals in the same way and make sure to arrange the layout.
You can make flower stalks from green pens, thick wire, green cleaning pipes, or even buy fake stems from an art supply store
Step 5. Add the remaining petals
When you are done with the previous petal, continue with the rest of the petals. The petals should also be folded at the bottom, tacked on, and wrapped around the other petals. Don't forget to adjust the layout of the petals. Keep adding petals until your rose looks full.
Step 6. Add the finishing touches
When the roses are done, you may want to add some finishing touches. You can apply green tissue paper to the bottom of the flower or even curl the petals using a pencil.
Tips
- Try making lots of flowers and making a bouquet.
- Try making flowers in different sizes.
- After making a flower, try to design it and make more flowers.
- Try stringing beads on flower stalks (cleaning pipe).
- Try to bend the end of the cleaning tube so it doesn't puncture your fingers.
- Try adding leaves by cutting some green paper and sticking it to the cleaning pipe.
- Try folding the petals to make them look real.
- Spray perfume at a distance of 7.6 cm from the flower so that the flower does not get wet.
Warning
- Don't spray too much perfume on the flowers. Doing so can damage the flowers.
- If you are using a perfume that is not yours, be sure to ask first.
- The cleaning pipe can puncture your fingers if you're not careful.
