There are many effective ways to curl your hair, from using a brush and a hairdryer to curling it overnight. However, you can also curl your hair with the everyday essentials you have in your bag. As long as you have a pencil (or pen), you can create a gorgeous, natural-looking curly hair look.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Curling Hair without Special Products
Step 1. Take a shower and dry your hair until it is slightly damp
Take a shower first, then dry your hair with a towel. Squeeze the remaining water from the hair. Take a clean towel and gently pat your hair all over. Hair should not be too wet, only slightly wet to the touch.
If your hair is too wet, the curled hair will be weighed down by the weight of the water. Your hair only needs to be slightly wet to style
Step 2. Part your hair as needed
Most people recommend that you take small sections of hair to make it easier to curl, even if the process takes longer. The less the hair is permed, the denser the shape. If you curl your hair too thickly, it will look loose and bulky.
Step 3. Take a small section of your hair, then roll it into a pencil
Take a small section of hair, roll it into a pencil, and then rotate the pencil 180 degrees to make sure the hair doesn't slip off the pencil. Continue the process all over the rest of the hair using a pencil. Leave about 3-5 cm of hair at the top so that the curls look together on your head.
Step 4. Leave the pencil for 2-3 hours
The longer you leave your curled hair in the pencil, the better the results. If you want to move to a different section of your hair, take a hair tie or a stretchy clip and tie it into the coil in the pencil. Move on to the next section of hair and use another pencil.
You can also stick a pencil into your hair and put it to sleep overnight. This will result in the most natural looking curls
Step 5. Remove the hair from the pencil
Your hair will feel dry to the touch. Start with the first part of the hair that was rolled up. Other parts need time to curl. If you feel the shape is too dense, use your fingers to adjust the shape of the hair as desired.
Method 2 of 2: Using a Vise
Step 1. Comb or brush dry hair
Comb or brush your hair to make sure there are no tangles. Do this for each section of hair by pulling it up from the roots to the tips.
Use a wide-toothed comb to straighten curly hair and a regular toothed brush to straighten straight hair
Step 2. Take a small section of hair, then roll it into a pencil
When curling the hair on the shaft of the pencil, point the end of the hair at one end of the pencil to tie it up. Make sure you can't see the pencil under the hair, but don't pile up the hair while curling it. This method produces a more natural curly shape because it looks flat from top to bottom. This method also allows you to apply the iron to your hair instead of the pencil.
Step 3. Take a straightener and clip the tool to the hair attached to the pencil
Make sure the iron is not too hot so that your hair doesn't burn. For thin hair with chemical products, use a heat setting below 90 °C. For thick or coarse hair, set the temperature to 90-180 °C. Never use a vise over 200 °C. Wait about 3-5 seconds to heat each section of curled hair while pressing the flat iron gently against the pencil. Be careful not to touch your fingers with the hot vise. After the process is complete, hold the hair position for 10 seconds.
So that the shape of the hair does not change, spray styling products to curly hair
Step 4. Gently remove the hair from the pencil
If you feel your hair is too tight (like a spring), run your fingers through your hair once or twice. Don't keep brushing it with your fingers as it will lose the curls. Once you've got the look you want, continue the process of getting the style you want.
Step 5. Finish the process by spraying hairspray
Hold the product at least 25-30 cm from the hair. Choose a medium-hold type product so that the curly hair shape can last all day. Enjoy your cool curls!
Tips
- Put on a heat protectant before heating your hair.
- Use conditioner regularly for your hair.
- Clean the vise after use.
- You can curl your hair with a pencil and heat it with a hairdryer. This method works most effectively when your hair is wet.
Warning
- Do not allow the vise to overheat or use the appliance for too long. Your hair can burn or suffer permanent damage.
- Turn off the vise after use.
