The Eldredge tie knot is a striking knot and is currently very popular. This knot is more difficult to tie than the standard Four-in-hand knot. Follow these steps to tie an Eldredge knot easily and quickly.

Step 1. Place the tie around the neck
The wide side of the end of the tie is on the right. Make sure the wide end of the tie hangs slightly lower, about 1 cm from the small end. Make a small dimple on the wide end in the center line
The wide end will not move during the binding process, so place it at the desired height for the final result
Step 2. Bring the small end over the wide end
Let the wide end hang in the starting position. Fold the small end under the wide end to the left.
Step 3. Bring the small end through the front of the loop on the neck
Pull back towards the right. Cross it back in front of the wide end and pull it through the back of the neck loop. The small end should now be in front of your right side.
Make sure the knot is firm at this point
Step 4. Cross the small end over to the left, then thread it behind the loop pointing up
Step 5. Cross the small end back behind the wide end
Twist through the new hole made over the wide end. Pull the small end to the top right tightly to tie a knot.
Step 6. Roll the small end around the neck loop on the right side
Step 7. The small end is pulled back through the neck loop then crossed forward, and pulled behind the knot to the left side
Step 8. Pull the small end through the new loop
The small end will go back through the loop made above the knot and pulled to the right side. Tighten the knot. Supposedly, only a tiny bit of the tip was left by now.
Insert the remaining small end into the collar. Your tie is done
Step 9. Done
Tips
- Don't use a striped tie. Wear a plain patterned tie.
- The Eldredge knot is quite difficult to do and takes some practice to get a good knot.
- A simple outfit will further accentuate this complex tie tie.
