The middle ponytail is just as beautiful when paired with a t-shirt and jeans or a dress. The key is to make the pigtails look neat, not just tie them with a hair band. Straightening the ends, hiding the hair tie, and adding volume to the pigtail are the keys to making it attractive.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Making a Simple Ponytail
Step 1. Straighten or trim your curls
The difference between a neat and messy pigtail is how you handle your hair. Curly or uncombed hair creates messy pigtails or odd dangles. Depending on your hair type, you can take one of the following steps to straighten your hair before ponying it up:
- Straighten with a hair straightener. No need to straighten each strand, just focus on the ends and the parts that will dangle when tied. This will make the pigtails look neater. Even if your hair is straight, there's nothing wrong with doing this.
- Trim your curls or waves with curling irons. This will prevent your hair from looking tangled or too stiff. Neat curls make the pigtails look more beautiful.
Step 2. Make a neat parting of the hair
Use a comb to make a side or middle part of your hair as you wish. Use the tip of the comb to remove the dangling hair and make it look beautiful and neat.
Step 3. Comb the hair using a comb
Use the comb to comb the top, bottom, sides, and areas under the pigtails, then hold them together tightly where you want them, right in the center of the head. A medium-height pigtail is a few inches below the top of the head, neither too high nor too low.
If you have unruly hair, spray the comb with hairspray before use. Thus, you comb while using hairspray for a more natural impression
Step 4. Put on an elastic hair band
Choose one that fits your hair type that doesn't slide and fall off easily. Silk hair bands are known to be safe for hair because they do not cause hair breakage. Avoid using regular rubber bands.
Step 5. Make sure the pigtail is in the middle
Check the pigtails using the mirror behind the head. Is the pigtail position correct? Notice if the pigtail needs to be shifted slightly to the right or to the left.
Step 6. Check the tail of the hair
Is it exactly what you want? If the shape isn't perfect, use a straightener or curling iron to smooth it out and create the look you want. You can also use a gel or cream to create a beautiful, bold look.
Step 7. Finish with additional hairspray
Spray on top and sides of hair and pigtails. Your view is complete.
Method 2 of 3: Covering the Hair Band
Step 1. Tie your hair neatly
Follow the instructions above to create a neat, knotted pigtail right in the center of the head. Use a straightener or curling iron to make the pigtails look as neat as possible.
Step 2. Take a lock of hair from the bottom of the pigtail
Take a thick tuft of hair from the bottom so it's not visible.
Step 3. Wrap it around the hair band
Twist until the hair runs out. When finished, the hair band is completely closed.
Step 4. Secure the ends with bobby pins
You only need a bobby pin or two to hold your hair in place.
Step 5. Make sure the pigtail looks neat
Closing the hair band gives a graceful touch that makes the appearance of the hair suitable for use in any event. Top it off with a hair clip, and you're good to go.
Method 3 of 3: Increasing Volume
Step 1. Tie your hair neatly
Follow the instructions above to create a neat, knotted pigtail right in the center of the head. Use a straightener or curler to make the pigtails look as neat as possible.
Step 2. Lift the top of the hair
Take the hair on the top of the head and the sides of the temples, and remove it from the hair tie. You need to set aside a fair amount of hair. Eventually your hair will come back in a ponytail, but at this point you'll need to untie it.
- You may want to loosen the ties to make the hair easier to remove.
- The purpose of tying your hair in the early stages is to make it easier for you to pick up the topmost part of your hair when your hair is in a ponytail.
Step 3. Hold the section of hair straight above your head
Use one hand to hold it while the other hand holds the comb.
Step 4. Comb the hair in the opposite direction from the tips towards the roots
Combing from the ends to the roots will give the hair a touch and add volume. Do this until you reach the desired volume.
Step 5. Trim the top hair
Place a section of hair on your head so you can see how your hair is hanging down. Comb only the top of the hair carefully, leaving the bottom part fluffy. Thus the volume of hair is maintained in a stylish appearance.
Step 6. Repeat making the hair ponytail
Remove the hair from the knot and lift it up, including the volume. Now the hair at the top looks pretty fluffy, rather than just covering the head flat.
Step 7. Wrap a lock of hair around the hair band
Tighten with tongs so that the hair band is not visible.
Step 8. Finish with hairspray
Spray on the front and back to hold the pigtail in place.
