Even though it may seem impossible, clean and blemish-free skin can be obtained easily. Your quest for porcelain-perfect skin is over! Just follow these simple steps.
Step
Method 1 of 5: Preventing Sun Damage
Step 1. Protect the skin from the sun
Even on cloudy days, UVA and UVB rays will penetrate the clouds. The sun's UV rays can damage the skin and cause dark spots, freckles, early signs of aging, and increase the risk of skin cancer.
- Wear sunscreen. Look for a sunscreen labeled "broad-spectrum" that protects your skin from UVA and UVB rays and contains at least SPF 30.
- Reapply sunscreen if you will be outside or in the sun for a long time.
- When going swimming, try to apply sunscreen at least half an hour in advance. This is so that the sunscreen can seep into the skin before you swim and not dissolve into the water. When finished, also make sure to reapply it.
Step 2. Avoid the sun
Sunscreen prevents most of the damage caused by the sun. However, the surest way to protect your skin is to stay out of the sun. While this may not be possible when you're outdoors, there are many ways to cover your body.
- Find shelter. Find some shade, an umbrella, a chair under a tree, or an indoor rest area. The sun is at its hottest at 10 am to 2 pm.
- Shade may be difficult to find in hot weather. You should wear a hat or bring an umbrella.
Method 2 of 5: Keeping Your Face Clean
Step 1. Find the right cleanser for your face
Everyone's skin has different problems. There are oily, dry, or easy comedones. Your facial cleansing routine will depend on the type of skin problem.
- Facial cleansers can be purchased at any pharmacy or beauty supply store. Commercial facial cleansers are usually created specifically for different skin problems. Look for a facial cleanser that meets the needs of your skin or several cleansers that work effectively when used together. Facial cleansers can be in the form of a scrub, toner, astringent, or tissue.
- Sensitive skin requires gentle cleansers and should not be scrubbed. If rubbed, skin irritation will become more severe and difficult to recover.
- If your skin is sensitive to certain cleansers or has severe acne problems, contact a dermatologist. A dermatologist can give you a prescription medication or suggest some cleansers that are suitable for your problem.
- You can also clean your face by applying baking soda dissolved in water and then rinsing it off. This technique helps clean pores and is much cheaper than most facial cleansers.
Step 2. Clean your face regularly
The face should be cleaned twice a day, in the morning and at night. Pores will be problematic if this is not done regularly.
- Washing your face too often can make it dry. Be sure to incorporate the use of moisturizer into your routine.
- Use facial cleansers consistently. If you change facial cleansers too often (with different properties), skin problems may actually get worse.
- Try using an electronic cleaning brush when exfoliating. This tool is most suitable for people whose skin is not sensitive. If you have sensitive skin, try using the appliance on a gentle setting so that skin irritation doesn't get worse.
Step 3. Change and wash pillowcases frequently
Method 3 of 5: Using Face Masks and Treatments
Step 1. Use a face mask to keep your skin young and smooth
Face masks can be purchased at spas, beauty supply stores, or cosmetic stores.
- If there are no special instructions, the face mask is usually worn and left on for 15 minutes.
- To clean it, rinse your face with a towel (not your hands) and warm water. Then, splash cold water.
Step 2. You can also make a face mask at home with the following ingredients
Not only are they cheaper, homemade face masks are also more effective. Home face masks contain natural and fresh ingredients that are less likely to be compatible with facial cleansers. Some of the ingredients include:
- Tomatoes: Remove the seeds and mash the tomatoes. Apply a tomato to your face and leave it on for 15 minutes to allow your skin to absorb its antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients. Tomatoes are great for hydrating dry skin and treating acne. Add lemon and sugar to remove dead skin cells and remove blackheads.
- Avocado: Avocado can be used without other ingredients or combined with honey and lemon. Avocado is rich in vitamins A and E, antioxidants, and oils that maintain skin elasticity and softness.
- Papaya: Papaya has properties similar to avocado. Try mixing avocado with cream or yogurt.
- Pumpkin: Like papaya, pumpkin is great for moisturizing. Try mixing pumpkin with cream and honey.
- Pineapple: Brighten and soften the skin by applying a mixture of pineapple and honey.
- Strawberries: Mix strawberries with honey, cream, or yogurt for the right benefits. Strawberries not only hydrate the skin but also help prevent and soothe sunburns.
- Bananas: Bananas are able to make the skin soft. Bananas also contain potassium which helps treat eye bags. Bananas are best mixed with honey and lemon. It's best to use bananas that are very ripe because they will be easier to mash.
- Lemon: Lemon is often added to cleaning products. Lemon works as a toner or astringent.
- Chocolate: Cocoa powder can be mixed with many ingredients such as yogurt, honey, milk, or even clay. Its nutrients and antioxidants help fight aging problems.
- Egg white: An egg white mask, mixed with a little milk and honey, is very effective for treating acne. However, it is best not to apply the mask around the eyes and mouth as it will become very hard when dry.
- Milk: Milk can be used without other ingredients or combined with other ingredients as a mask to clean the face. Dip a cotton swab in milk and apply the cotton to your face while massaging it. Milk will hydrate, cleanse, and maintain healthy facial skin. Milk will also help even out skin tone and help skin look like porcelain. Queen Elizabeth of England and Cleopatra used to bathe in milk to whiten their skin. Milk contains vitamins A and D which function to soften the skin.
- Honey, yogurt, and oatmeal are common in combination with other ingredients.
Method 4 of 5: Keeping Skin Healthy
Step 1. Drink plenty of water
The body needs water at all times. The skin, like other organs, depends on water to flush out harmful toxins. Consumption of water also helps prevent dry skin.
Step 2. Drink white tea
White tea is rich in antioxidants and can be added to any type of tea without affecting its taste. Try to consume it regularly.
Step 3. Eat a healthy diet
Make sure that the food you eat meets the needs of your skin and allows your body to get the vitamins and nutrients it needs. Avoid oily foods, especially if you have oily skin.
Step 4. Don't touch your face with your fingers
- If you have bangs or long hair, you may be tempted to keep it away from your face. Be careful not to let your fingers touch your face to prevent oily skin and breakouts.
- If you wear glasses, the areas of skin that come into contact with the glasses are more likely to break out due to the build-up of oil in the pores and the added oil when you touch your face to adjust. People who wear glasses may need to clean their face more often.
- Do not scratch or remove the scab. This will cause scars or dark spots.
Method 5 of 5: Wearing Makeup
Step 1. Look for a compact powder that is lighter than the skin, but not too light
Step 2. Apply the powder using a short, round brush in circular motions on the cheeks, chin, forehead and nose
Step 3. Apply the same powder using a smaller brush (preferably a slanted brush or a brush with shorter bristles on one side) and connect the areas that have been powdered
Step 4. Look for blush in a nice color
Make sure to make it look natural.
Step 5. Use the first brush to lightly apply the blush in circular motions on the cheeks
Step 6. Apply the blush with a second brush on the cheekbones towards the corners of the eyes
This step will make the face look thinner and more elegant.
Step 7. Don't apply blush if you have blemishes, acne, or reddened skin on your cheeks
Cover the area as much as possible with powder. While it won't be completely covered, your cheeks will naturally appear a little flushed.
Warning
- Foundation and powder will leave a residue in the pores. So, if you use makeup, make sure to clean your face thoroughly at night. Never leave it overnight (without cleaning)! You will regret it in the morning.
- If your skin is sensitive, don't rub it and use a gentle facial cleanser to prevent the irritation from getting worse.
- Oily food will make the skin oily.
- Avoid the temptation to touch your face or pop and squeeze a pimple.
Tips
- Drink lots of water! Keeping the body well hydrated is the key to making skin look flawless.
- Make the makeup look natural. Don't make your face look like you're wearing powder. Spread the makeup on the hairline well.
- Drink white tea! White tea is rich in antioxidants so it cleanses and rejuvenates the skin.
- If you have acne on your forehead because of your bangs or glasses, try looking for facial cleansing wipes that you can use throughout the day to prevent this.
