If you know how to French braid, increase your knowledge with waterfall braids! This is a nice new change from traditional braids and easy to do. Use these simple steps to create a gorgeous new hairstyle and make your friends jealous.

Step 1. Comb your hair
Free your hair from tangles and smooth it completely for easy braiding. If your hair is coarse or frizzy, dampen it slightly or use a serum to make it smooth.
Step 2. Part your hair
Starting at the front of the head, take 1 section as wide as the braid you want. Divide this main part into 3 equal parts.
Step 3. Cross the right section over the middle
Step 4. Cross the left section of hair over the middle strand
Step 5. Cross the right strand over the middle, then drop it
Step 6. Cross the left strand over the middle strand
Step 7. Take a new strand close to the base of the right strand
Step 8. Cross the new strand on the right over the middle and drop it
Step 9. Continue this pattern
Move the left strand over the middle section, pick up the new strand on the right, move this strand towards the top center, and drop it. Do this according to the length of the braid you want.
Step 10. Complete this braid
The longer the braiding process, the more your braid will look like a waterfall. When you get to the point you want, you can stop or finish with a regular braid. At one point, secure the ends with a hair band.
Step 11. Finish your view
Brush the waterfall strands that you drop from the braid with your fingers to make sure there are no tangles. Let your hair hang down, and use a bobby pin or a headband to complete your look. Give your hair some hairspray, and you're done!
Tips
- Try making waterfall braids on both sides of your head and tying them together behind your head for a more formal look.
- Use hair that has not been washed for a day or two so that the hair is not too slippery. Clean hair is difficult to braid because it lacks natural oils to hold the hair in place.
- Make sure you know how to French braid if you want to make a waterfall braid.
