Baccarat is an elegant casino game often played by the wealthiest big gamblers, and is also the game that James Bond often chose. Baccarat is a dramatic game that involves an uncertain bet on one of two possibilities--between the banker who has the higher number, or the player who has it. To play baccarat, one must have a lot of courage, but you can learn the rules fairly quickly and also how to place smart and safe bets so you can master the table. See step one for more information.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Learning the Rules of the Game
Step 1. Understand how cards are dealt
In the game of Baccarat, both parties will be dealt two cards each from a deck of cards which usually consists of 8 sets of cards. One party is called the player, and the other party is called the banker. Any player can bet on whichever side is believed to have a value closest to nine.
- The dealing of cards is usually done clockwise between the betting parties, and the players can choose to skip their turn. The player in turn will deal two cards to the banker, who is usually the casino representative who is in charge of dealing with the betting chips. The first party to distribute the cards is usually the player and the second party to distribute the cards is usually the banker.
- Sometimes, when the deck of cards is shuffled, the first card is turned over and indicates how many cards must be "burnt" (throw away) each time a card is dealt to each side. So, if the first card is 2 Hearts, the dealer will discard two cards each time the side changes until the deck is shuffled again.
Step 2. Learn how cards are graded
Basically, the value of the two cards added will result in a value between 0 to 9. The type of card is ignored. Jacks, Queens, and Kings are worth 10, Aces are worth 1, and all cards from 2-9 are worth their respective numbers. When the values of the two cards are added up, the tens digit is discarded, so the units digit determines the value. In other words, the Jack, Queen, and King cards are essentially zero.
- For example, the player has cards 5 and 7. Since the sum is 12, the value of the two cards is 2. Unlike in Blackjack, a "bust" or excessive number of values is not possible in Baccarat, even if the addition of cards (hit)) can be done on certain game rules.
- In the event of a draw, the game round will be skipped and the stake will be refunded, then the cards will be re-distributed.
Step 3. Understand how card additions work on the player's side
A third card will be dealt to the players and bankers under the following conditions:
- If either side has a score of 8 or 9, both sides must stand (stand). This rule overrides other rules regarding adding cards.
- If the player's side has a value of 5 or less, then the player will get an additional card.
Step 4. Learn when bankers can add cards
If the player stays (because the card in the hand is worth 6 or more), the banker will get an additional card if the card in his hand is worth 5 or less. If the player adds a card, then the situation will depend on the value of the player's additional card and the value of the banker.
- If the player's third card is 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, or Ace, the banker will add a card when the value of the card in his hand is 0-3, and the banker will stay when the card value is 4-7.
- If the player's third card is 8, the banker will add a card when the card value is 0-2, and the banker will stay if the card value is 3-7.
- If the player's third card is a 6 or 7, the banker will add a card when the card's value is 0-6, and the banker will stand if the card's value is 7.
- If the player's third card is 4 or 5, the banker will add a card when the card value is 0-5, and the banker will stay if the card value is 6-7.
- If the player's third card is 2 or 3, the banker will add a card when the card value is 0-4, and the banker will stay if the card value is 5-7.
- In almost all casinos, the banker will add cards according to these rules. Similar to the game of Roulette, the only choice that can be made in the game of Baccarat is whether or not to bet on the banker or player, then the cards will be controlled by the dealer and the table banker. It's okay to know the rules, but they're not the basic things you need to play Baccarat.
Part 2 of 2: Placing Bet Smartly
Step 1. Study your opportunities
The game of baccarat is very similar to the modern and classy version of the coin toss. Basically, you bet large sums of money on either side between the player or the banker for no reason before the cards are dealt. That's the part that makes the game interesting, dramatic, and unpredictable. You can't really influence the outcome of the cards with strategy, so this game has become popular with big gamblers.
In practice, the advantage lies with the casino, but only by a very small amount on a deck of 8 cards, namely: 1.06% on the banker bet, and 1.24% on the player bet
Step 2. Pay attention to your winning pattern
Most casinos provide a scoreboard that records the winning side of each spin. Since the game consists of many rounds, learning how to develop a strategy for betting, changing betting patterns, and winning the game with your pattern is a great way to win money in the long term game.
- Tick when you bet on the banker or player side and tick the correct guess. Look at the pattern of the game that is formed and follow that pattern. Feel the flow of the game's journey and bet based on it.
- Bet with different amounts. Since it can be said that the odds of winning are 50-50 split between the two sides, increase the bet when you have lost a smaller bet. Start betting a little (one or two units) and increase your bet based on the amount you've run out of losing. There will come a time when you bet on the right side and get back some of the money you have lost.
Step 3. Continue betting on one side
Betting on the game of baccarat uses instinct rather than a scientific mindset. There is a traditional advice, especially with online baccarat, that you shouldn't switch sides. In other words, if you bet on the player's side and the player continues to win, don't start switching to the banker's side. Continue to stick to the original plan and bet consistently. If the pattern of the game changes, then change your betting pattern as well. If you change quickly, try to keep up with the pattern. Learn how to adapt to the gameplay to be able to continue playing for a long time.
Baccarat players generally don't play it just a few rounds, then move on to another game. Baccarat is generally a game played by big gamblers with a fairly high minimum bet number, will continue to play for several hours, and allow large amounts of money to change hands. Often times, the game of Baccarat is even separate from the other games found in the casino. Bring a full bank account and plan to spend a fair amount of time and money playing for the game to be worthwhile
Step 4. Bet on the banker when you are in doubt
Traditionally, usually the player who deals the cards always bets on the banker and continues to deal the cards until the banker loses. Even if you're not a dealer, it's usually safer to follow the dealer and bet on the banker. When you don't have a strategy to choose between the banker or the player, there is actually a slightly greater chance for you to win.
Step 5. Calculate the amount of money you are willing to spend losing
Large amounts of money can change hands very quickly in the game of baccarat. Determine a certain amount that you want to win and come out when you are in a winning position. Like any game that relies on luck, it can be difficult to win continuously for a very long period of time. Therefore, get your target and go while you win.
Again, there will often be a minimum bet for table games, and usually the minimum bet in Baccarat is quite high. Watch the game and understand the specific rules of the casino before you sit down and bet your chips
Step 6. Follow your courage
In the game of Baccarat, scientific strategy has its limitations. You cannot read the cards in the opponent's hand. So don't be afraid to play according to your beliefs, be free and have fun. As in the game Craps, beginners who play it for the first time without knowing what it is playing are generally very happy and win a lot of money. Experienced players who bet very carefully and think too much are the ones who usually lose.
Tips
- It might be useful if you bet for the fun of playing baccarat online. This will help you understand the game process and betting options before you risk real money.
- The commission for the winnings of the "banker" may vary. The commission amount is usually around 5%, but it can be less.
- Although the payout for betting on a draw is quite significant, the bookie is in a more favorable position.
