While there's no surefire way to guess the password, there are a few that can lead you to it. Follow the steps below to find out how to guess someone else's password.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Common Tricks
Step 1. Use the most common passwords
A list of the 25 most common passwords is released at the end of each year. These passwords are the easiest to guess and are definitely the most frequently hacked. Avoid choosing one of the following passwords as your password, but use it to guess other people's passwords:
- password
- 123456
- 12345678
- abc123
- qwerty
- monkey
- letmein
- dragon
- 111111
- baseball
- iloveyou
- trustno1
- 1234567
- sunshine
- master
- 123123
- welcome
- shadow
- Ashley
- football
- Jesus
- Michael
- ninja
- mustang
- password1
Step 2. Use some common password tricks
Apart from guessing the most obvious passwords, there are several tricks used by professional guessers. They know, for example, that at least 50% of a user's password has one or more vowels. Here are some other tricks you should know:
- If the password has a number, it is usually a 1 or 2 at the end of the password.
- If the password has a capital letter, it is usually the first letter - and is often followed by a vowel.
Step 3. Find out if the password must meet the requirements
See if the password must be a certain length (usually a password must be at least 6 characters long), and whether it must have at least one number or one symbol or special character. If you're not sure, you can create your own account where you guess the password. The requirement to create a password will appear.
Step 4. Ask for directions
If your password has a "hint" option, ask for a hint to guide you guessing it. Guiding questions such as "What is your mother's maiden name?" or "What was the name of your first pet?". These questions can help narrow down the guesswork. Even if you don't know the name of the person's first pet, you can guess from a number of pet names. Or, if you know the person, you can open a conversation with that person about your first pet.
These clues can narrow the search if you know some personal information about that person. For example, if the question is "Where were you born?", you may already know the province or even the hometown of the person
Method 2 of 2: Reading Instructions
Step 1. Guess the personal name
Many people, and especially women, use personal names in passwords. Most people don't put their own name in their password, but it's worth a try. Here are some other names you can try while guessing:
- The name of an important person or that person's spouse
- That person's sibling name
- The name of the current pet or the person's favorite
- Name of the person's favorite athlete (especially for men)
- Nickname as a child or currently that person
Step 2. Think about the person's hobbies and interests
You can also guess from the person's hobbies or interests. Here are some tricks for you to try:
- For men, mix your favorite athlete with his favorite sport. For example: "Tigergolf" or "Kobebball".
- For women, guess the name of her favorite TV show, or the name of her favorite character on the show.
- Guess the name of the person's favorite athletic hobby. If the person likes to swim, try "Swimmer" with a few numbers after that.
Step 3. Guess the number that matters
Many people use numbers in their passwords to represent dates or lucky numbers. Some people even just use numbers in words. You can try these numbers yourself, or add them to the end of one of the words. Here are some ways to guess that person's password by numbers:
- Guess the person's birthday. For example, if his birthday is 12/18/75, type "181275" or "18121975".
- Try the person's address number. If the address number is 955, it could be part of the password.
- Try that person's lucky number. It's worth a try if that person ever says what his lucky number is.
- If the person works out a lot, try the numbers on the sweatshirt.
- Try the part of the person's phone number.
- Try the person's graduation class in college or high school.
Step 4. Guess his favorite things
You can also guess that person's password based on their favorite things. Here's what you can try:
- That person's favorite TV show.
- That guy's favorite movie.
- That person's favorite food.
- That person's favorite book.
Tips
- If you know how many letters there are in a password, it can save you a lot of time
- When trying to guess, make sure no one is looking at you.
- If you know the person well, think about their interests and hobbies, as this can help.
- Keep in mind that passwords are usually case sensitive, meaning they can use a combination of upper and lower case letters.
- Sometimes a person uses a verb instead of a noun.
Warning
- The program whose account password you're guessing usually has a "safety procedure". For example you can only enter 3 wrong passwords every 2 minutes. If there are too many errors, especially for the phone's PIN code, the device will hang up and not let you try again.
- Don't let you break the law by messing with other people's account passwords.
