The ideal fried bread is bread with a savory outer surface and a chewy filling then cooked with lard, butter or dough that is soaked in it. If you make it the right way, it will only take you a few minutes to prepare the ingredients and less than a minute to cook. Fry an egg in the center of the bread for a delicious and interesting breakfast, or dip the bread in the batter to make "French-fried bread," or as it's more commonly known as French toast.

Step
Method 1 of 3: Frying Bread for English Breakfast
Step 1. Fry the food to be served with the bread (optional)
Fried bread will generally be eaten with some fried foods and is part of an English breakfast. This fried bread usually includes eggs, pork, sausage, sliced tomatoes, mushrooms and beans. Fry all the food in the same pan before you start eating your bread.
If you're frying all of the above, start with the sausage and add the mushrooms after a few minutes, then add the rest of the ingredients. Finish with a fried egg
Step 2. Add fat or oil (optional)
Depending on how much meat and butter you've used when heating the pan, you may have enough oil in the pan. However, to be honest you won't want to do some introspection and consider the calorie count when frying bread. Add a little butter, flavored vegetable oil or lard.
Step 3. Heat the oil
Turn on the stove over a slightly high heat until the oil becomes shiny and hot. A hot skillet will make the bread savory instead of having to add wet fat.
Step 4. Put the bread slices in the pan
White bread that is slightly stale is the best choice, as the dry slices will absorb the flavored oils more quickly. Save the fresh rye bread for those who crave toast.
Cut the bread into triangles if you have a small frying pan
Step 5. Add seasonings (optional)
A little salt and pepper will add flavor to the bread, but it's not mandatory. Cayenne pepper is an option for people who like spice in their breakfast.
Step 6. Cook for a few minutes or until golden
If the pan is hot and oily enough, you will need a few seconds on both sides to make the bread savory, golden, and full of the flavor of the fried food. If your pan is too cold and not sizzling, you should fry for 15-30 seconds, but remove before the bread becomes "too" soggy.
Method 2 of 3: Making Egg Bread in a Basket
Step 1. Make a hole in a loaf of bread using a bread cutter or knife
You can use any type of bread as long as it doesn't crumble and separate. Cut a hole in the center of the loaf using a bread cutter or make a shape with a knife. You can fry the discarded bread as an addition, or eat it while you cook.
- Use a heart-shaped bread cutter for a romantic breakfast.
- If you are using a knife, place the bread on a cutting board and use the tip of the knife in an up-and-down motion, it is better to perforate the loaf with small holes than tear the loaf straight away.
Step 2. Heat butter or oil over medium heat
Add some butter or cooking oil to a frying pan or skillet. Allow a minute to heat up, or a few minutes longer if you're using an electric stove. The oil should be hot enough to sizzle when you dip the bread into it.
Do not use high heat, or your bread will burn before the eggs are cooked
Step 3. Place the bread on the pan
Make sure the oil or butter is evenly distributed in the pan, then add a piece of bread to it. Immediately move to the next stage.
As an option, also add the discarded bread slices if the slices are still whole
Step 4. Crack the egg into the hole
Crack the egg straight into the hole in the center of the loaf, just off the top of the pan.
Step 5. Add salt and pepper to taste
If you are serving to guests, you can serve this on the table.
In addition, you can cook with any food you want to enjoy with your omelet. Try grating some cheese and sprinkling it over your bread
Step 6. Turn the bread over when the egg whites have turned slightly cooked
You can cook the eggs however you like, but eggs that are still runny will be easier because the bread is less likely to burn. After a few minutes, or until the egg whites are slightly cooked but still slightly translucent, flip the eggs and bread over using a spatula or cooking barrel.
Step 7. Finish frying and serve
Cook the other side of the egg in the bread for a minute or two until the egg white is completely cooked through and the bread is golden. When the eggs are starting to cook, you can move the bread to the side of the pan with a spatula to drain the butter or oil.
Method 3 of 3: Cooking French Toast (Fried Bread in Egg Dough)
Step 1. Cut your bread
Sliced bread is usually too thin and tasteless to make good French toast (sometimes referred to as egg rolls or French fried bread). Slice a slice of challah, egg roll, brioche, or thin crust or other type of bread into -1 inch (2-2.5 cm) thick slices.
- Ideally, you can use fresh bread left out overnight to make it slightly dry and absorbent; But you can also use fresh bread if this is not possible.
- What is meant by “solid leftover bread” is the inside of the bread that must be chewy and free from large holes.
Step 2. Beat eggs together with milk and salt
Before you start frying, you'll need a thick custard like batter that can coat the eggs for a golden color. Combine the following ingredients to make enough dough for 8 slices of French toast:
- 3 large eggs large eggs
- Salt to taste
cup (160 ml) milk and cream mixture. Choose low-fat milk to keep you healthy, or cream for a very rich dish. Use well-beaten buttermilk instead of other flavorings. Use well-beaten buttermilk instead of other added flavours
Use low-fat milk for thinly sliced bread, or your French toast will end up being soggy
Step 3. Mix the flavors
You can make French toast, sweet or savory. Add flavor to your dough as you wish:
-
For sweet toast, mix 1 tbsp (15 ml) sugar and 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract. If you don't plan on serving the toast with maple syrup or other sweet treats, you can add 1 or 2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) of sugar. You can also add 2 tablespoons (10 ml) of cinnamon and/or 2 tablespoons (10 ml) of freshly grated orange peel.
-
For savory toast, combine 5 tbsp (20 ml) hot sauce, 3 tbsp (45 ml) chopped basil, and generous amount of black pepper. Cheese, Garlic, and other savory seasonings can also be added or substituted for other ingredients.
-
Step 4. Soak the bread in the dough
Pour the batter into a large saucepan, and add a few slices of bread to soak. Most cooks will prepare this recipe quickly by simply soaking the bread for a while while they heat the pan with butter. However, soaking the bread for 15-20 minutes will increase the amount of dough that is absorbed and is highly recommended if you are using thin, dense bread.
Turn the bread several times during the soaking process
Step 5. Heat 2-3 tablespoons (30-45ml) of butter in a frying pan
If your pan is not enough for 8 slices of bread, then you will have to repeat this 3-4 times. Heat and melt butter until foam forms and subsides.
- You can use neutral-flavored oils such as canola or peanut oil, but these will taste bland.
- Mix a little oil with butter to prevent scorching. This will help if you are using a stove or electric fryer where the heat is uneven.
Step 6. Fry the bread
Add as much bread as possible according to the size of the pan. Fry until golden on one side, then flip and cook the other side. You only need a few minutes to cook both sides.
- If you have extra buttered bread that can be fried, immediately wipe off any excess butter with a dry paper towel, then melt more butter in the pan before adding the next bun.
- Spreading custard is a sign that your pan is not hot enough, or that there is too much water in your batter.
Step 7. Serve your French toast
French toast can be served plain, or with a variety of other sweets. You can try maple syrup, fresh fruit, or powdered sugar for sweet bread types. For savory French toast, you can eat it with pesto, stir-fried vegetables, or cheese.
