This wikiHow teaches you how to turn off driving mode on an iPhone or Android. Driving mode is a setting that will turn off phone notifications when the device detects that you are in a moving vehicle.

Method 1 of 2: On iPhone
Step 1. Turn off driving mode temporarily
On iPhone, the "driving mode" feature is called "Do Not Disturb". Do the following to turn it off:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

Step 2. Open Settings
on iPhone.
Tap the Settings icon which is a gray gear.
Step 3. Swipe down the screen, then touch Do Not Disturb
The current month icon is at the top of the Settings page.
Step 4. Swipe down from the screen to the "DO NOT DISTURB WHILE DRIVING" section
This section is at the bottom of the page.
Step 5. Touch Activate
You'll find it under the " DO NOT DISTURB WHILE DRIVING " heading.
Step 6. Touch Manually
This option is at the bottom of the menu. By doing so, the Do Not Disturb feature is only active if it is selected manually.
Step 7. Turn off Do Not Disturb if necessary
If Do Not Disturb is currently active, tap the " Back " button in the top left corner, then swipe up on the screen and tap the green " Do Not Disturb " button.
You can also use Control Center to turn off driving mode as described in the first step of this section
Method 2 of 2: On Android
Step 1. Open the quick settings menu
Use 2 fingers to slide the screen from top to bottom. A drop-down menu will be displayed.
Step 2. Look for the "Driving mode" or "Do not disturb" notification
If the Android device is in driving mode, a notification will appear in this bar.
If you have a Samsung Galaxy, touch the icon Do not disturb in the drop-down menu to turn off the driving mode. You may need to confirm this change.
Step 3. Touch the notification
The Settings page for the driving mode will open.
Step 4. Touch the "On" or "Do not disturb" switch
This button is usually at the top of the screen, but each Android model has slightly different driving mode options. By touching this button, the driving mode will be turned off.
Step 5. Turn off fashionable driving on Android device permanently
Unfortunately, how to permanently disable driving mode on each Android device can vary. The easiest way to find driving mode settings is to do a search in the Settings app:
- Open Settings.

Touch the search field or icon
Macspotlight then do a search with the keywords " driving " or " do not disturb ".
- Select the setting related to the automatic activation of the driving mode when the user is in the car.
- Disable those settings.
Step 6. Turn off driving mode on Google-made Android devices
For example, if you're using a Pixel 2, you'll need to go to Settings, touch Sound, touch preferences Do Not Disturb, touch Driving, and touch DELETE on the "Driving" rules page.
- You may first need to disable Do Not Disturb in order to remove the "Driving" rule.
- If you haven't set up " Driving " rules, driving mode won't turn on automatically on Pixel devices.
