Otterbox is a good phone case, but once installed, it can be difficult to remove. This article will guide you through it.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Defender Series
Step 1. Remove the holster
The holster can be removed with a slight tug.
Step 2. Remove the silicone coating from the shield, and be careful not to damage any of the ends or plugs
It is recommended that you remove the silicone ends one at a time until the silicone comes off.
Step 3. If your case has tabs, find 3-4 tabs around the phone
Keep in mind that not all Otterboxes have tabs; a lot of Otterbox protectors just stick to it. Generally, there is one tab at each end of the phone and one tab at the top or bottom. Gently release each tab for it to appear. After that, you can remove the front and back plastic.
If your case doesn't have tabs, you can simply pull the front and back off
Method 2 of 3: Commuter Series
Step 1. Remove the polycarbonate shell
This part sticks only to the silicone, so it can be removed easily with minimal shaking.
Step 2. If your phone is a sliding phone, you probably have a sticky screen protector
Again, the plastic parts can be easily removed.
Step 3. Gently peel off the silicone shield
Oftentimes, these cases come with small shields that cover holes such as headphone jacks and chargers, so make sure you don't pull too hard on the silicone to prevent the tiny protectors from tearing.
