This wikiHow teaches you how to look for signs of a virus or malware problem on your Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Looking for Signs of a Virus

Step 1. Check if there is an increase in mobile data usage
Viruses often use your phone or tablet's data plan while running in the background. This triggers an increase in mobile data usage. Check the monthly bill for any “suspicious” charges from the increased data usage.

Step 2. Check the bank account to see if any foreign fees have been charged to the account
Some types of viruses can make purchases or download unfamiliar applications without your knowledge.

Step 3. Look for the app you didn't download
If you see unfamiliar app icons on your home screen or app drawer and you don't think you've downloaded them, it's possible that the app was downloaded by a virus. Even if the unfamiliar app seems normal or trusted, be careful if you don't think you've downloaded it.

Step 4. Observe if the app crashes or crashes frequently
If an app that has never had problems before is crashing frequently, it's possible that the crash was caused by a virus.

Step 5. Watch for pop-up ads that appear frequently
Pop-up ads may not be that uncommon when you're browsing the web. However, if you suddenly get a pop-up ad “attack”, there is a possibility that your device has a virus.
Whatever you do, don't touch the links shown in the ads. The condition of the phone may deteriorate if you do so

Step 6. Keep an eye on device battery usage
Since viruses are always running in the background, the device battery may need to be recharged more often. If you normally charge your device every 2-3 days but suddenly need to charge it every day, there is a possibility that the problem is caused by a virus.

Step 7. Run a security scan
Your Galaxy device comes with a built-in security app, but you can use any other app you want. Read this segment to check for viruses on your phone or tablet.
Part 2 of 2: Running a Security Scan

To access the menu, swipe down from the top of the home screen, then tap the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Step 2. Touch Device Maintenance

Step 3. Touch Device security
It's the shield icon at the bottom of the menu.

Step 4. Touch SCAN PHONE
The security application will scan for viruses and other malware on the device.

Step 5. Follow the instructions shown on the screen to complete the process
If a virus or suspicious file is found, the application will notify you of the steps to take to deal with the situation.
