This wikiHow teaches you how to add contacts from your Gmail account to your iPhone's address book or contact list. You can add a Gmail account if it's not already added to your iPhone, or activate contacts from an existing Gmail account on your phone.

Method 1 of 2: Adding a Gmail Account to Contacts
Step 1. Open the iPhone settings menu (“Settings”)
Tap the “Settings” app icon which looks like a gray box with gears.
Step 2. Scroll down and tap Accounts & Passwords
It's in the lower third of the " Settings " page.
Step 3. Touch Add Account
This option is at the bottom of the page.
Step 4. Touch Google
It's in the middle of the page. After that, the Gmail login page will open.
Step 5. Type in your email address
Enter the email address associated with your Google account.
You can also use a phone number if it is already connected to an account
Step 6. Touch Next
It's in the lower-right corner of the page.
Step 7. Enter the Google account password
Type the password in the middle of the page.
Step 8. Touch Next
After that, the Gmail account will be added to the iPhone and the account settings page will be displayed.
Step 9. Make sure contacts are activated
If the switch to the right of the "Contacts" option is green, the contact activation process is complete. Otherwise, touch the white " Contacts " switch
to activate it.
Step 10. Touch Save
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. After that, the Gmail account will be saved and the contacts in the account will be added to the "Contacts" application of the device.
Method 2 of 2: Enabling Contacts for Already Added Gmail Accounts
Step 1. Open the iPhone settings menu (“Settings”)
Tap the “Settings” app icon which looks like a gray box with gears.
Step 2. Scroll down and tap Accounts & Passwords
It's in the lower third of the " Settings " page.
Step 3. Select an account
Touch the Gmail account with the contact you want to add to your phone.
If you only have one Gmail account on your iPhone, just tap the option “ Gmail ”.
Step 4. Touch the white “Contacts” switch
The switch color will change to green
which indicates that the contacts in the selected Gmail account will be added to the device's “Contacts” application.
