This wikiHow teaches you how to get and keep around 100 Instagram followers by actively engaging in the Instagram community and uploading lots of photos.
Step
Step 1. Like and leave comments on hundreds of photos
Evidence shows that for every 100 photos you like, you can get about six followers. Try increasing your engagement by leaving comments on photos to increase the likelihood that users will follow you back, although the process can be time-consuming.
You can also get the same result by following other accounts
Step 2. Upload photos (at least) once a day
This way, your followers will stay entertained.
Step 3. Respond to comments left on your photos
Instagram users may start to become disinterested and, eventually, unfollow your account within a day (or less) if you don't actively respond to their comments, especially if you're just starting out on Instagram.
This form of interaction (similar to mass likes of other users' photos) is very time consuming. You may need to set aside an hour or two each day to engage with your followers
Step 4. Link Instagram account with other social media accounts
You can link accounts via Instagram's settings menu. By adding a social media account (e.g. Facebook) to your Instagram account information, you can expand the reach of Instagram posts to social media users who don't use Instagram (or, at least, don't know you have an Instagram account yet).
- For example, by connecting your Facebook account to your Instagram account, you can tell your Facebook friends who use Instagram that you also use Instagram. As a result, they may want to follow your account.
- Once you've connected your social media account to Instagram, you have the option of sending Instagram photos to Instagram and the linked account (e.g. Twitter) at the same time. This way, you can increase the number of users who can see your photos.
Step 5. Enter your photo into the contest on Instagram
By winning contests, your account will be more famous so you get more followers. There are several accounts that often hold general contests, such as:
- JJ Community – Every day, this account submits a different contest theme. Submit photos that match the theme, then account moderators will choose the best photos. Keep in mind that there are more than 600,000 users who follow the account so you will have to compete with many other users.
- Contestgram – After downloading the Contestgram app from your device's app store, you can submit photos for the daily contest. Like JJ Community, Contestgram is also a project carried out by the Instagram community.
- Participating in daily contests is a good way to make sure you upload high-quality, concept photos (at least) once a day. The contest theme helps you focus on the purpose of the photo while taking the photo.
Step 6. Include popular hashtags in the photo description
You can refer to the list of the 100 most popular hashtags for starters, or you can experiment with different hashtags to see which hashtags get the most attention (and likes) from other users.
Some of the popular hashtags include: "photooftheday", "instaphoto", "nofilter", and "followforfollow" (or "f4f")
Step 7. Add location marker on photo
You can add a location marker while adding a photo description to the upload process by selecting Add Location and following the next steps. By adding a location marker, your photos will be shown when other users search for a suitable location.
This process is known as “geotagging”. To avoid conflict, do not mark the location of the house or other location that does not match the location of the actual photo shoot
Step 8. Upload photos during “popular” hours
Popular times to check Instagram vary throughout the day, but on average, it's a good idea to post photos during your lunch break (e.g. 12 noon) or your leisure time in the evening (around 6 or 7 p.m.).) to make sure more users see your post.
School start hours (around 7 to 9 am) and work hours (around 5 pm) are considered inappropriate times to upload photos
Step 9. Schedule your shipment in advance
Consistency is the most important aspect to attract the attention of Instagram users, and also the most difficult process to do. To solve this problem, there are various apps for the iOS or Android platform that allow you to schedule Instagram posts in advance.
"Latergramme", "Schedugram", and "TakeOff" are Instagram post manager options that get a lot of good reviews
Step 10. Continue to interact with other users
People will love to be involved in the process of uploading or creating photos so make them a part of your photos by tagging them in photos, keep uploading photos frequently, and responding to feeds or comments from other users. As long as you follow these techniques consistently, you can get 100 followers in no time.
Tips
Even if it sounds suspicious or silly, you can buy 100 Instagram followers (or multiples thereof). Usually, these followers will “disappear” after a certain amount of time so this cannot be a long-lasting strategy
Warning
- Never give out your account password to any website or app that sells followers.
- When buying Instagram followers on the internet, make sure you read the seller's privacy policy carefully (including the terms and conditions) so that you know exactly what the seller can get and use of account information.
- Purchased followers typically don't engage in your posts (eg leaving comments or liking posts).
