When you want to show off a clip or video from an Instagram Story, you can add it to your profile as a Highlight segment or highlight. Unlike Story, this segment has no time limit and will remain displayed on your profile until you manually delete it. You can save Highlight content from your own profile using the Instagram app, or download Stories and Highlights that other users share via third-party websites. Method 1 of 3: Saving Story As or to Highlight Segment
Step 1. Open Instagram
This app icon looks like a camera inside a square with a yellow to purple gradient. You can find it on your home screen or app drawer, or by searching for it.
You can follow this method to save any of the Story content as a Highlight on your profile page
Step 2. Touch the profile icon
It's the human outline icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. The profile page will be displayed. Highlight content will be displayed below the bio, at the top of the profile page.
If you see the phrase "Story Highlights" with a downward-facing arrow to the right of it, touch the arrow to expand the Highlights segment
Step 3. Touch the + icon
It's in a circle, below the username and bio. All archived Story content will load.
Step 4. Touch Story to select it
You can also select some content by touching the desired content. A blue tick will appear in the lower right corner of the Story inset to indicate that the content has been selected.
Step 5. Touch Next
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 6. Type in the name of the Highlight or highlight album (optional)
If you don't type anything, the main name used is " Highlights ".
Step 7. Touch the album art (optional)
You can touch the link Edit Cover ” to change the appearance of the highlight album cover image.
Step 8. Touch Add or Done.
One of these options is in the upper-right corner of the screen. Highlight album has been created successfully and will be displayed under your username and bio on the profile page.
Method 2 of 3: Downloading Highlight Content
Step 1. Open Instagram

You can only download one Highlight photo/video at a time with this method
Step 2. Touch the profile icon
It's the human outline icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. The profile page will open. Highlight content will be displayed below the bio, at the top of the profile page.
If you see the phrase "Story Highlights" with a downward-facing arrow to the right of it, touch the arrow to expand the Highlights segment
Step 3. Touch the Highlight album art to play it
The first story on the album will be broadcast. If there are multiple Highlight albums in this segment, the next album will be played after the first album is finished.
Step 4. Touch the number " seen by " on the Highlight content that you want to download
You can see this number in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Step 5. Touch the download icon
This icon looks like an arrow pointing down above the line. The photo or video will be downloaded to the device gallery afterwards.
Method 3 of 3: Downloading Other Users' Highlight Content
Step 1. Visit https://zasasa.com/en/download_instagram_stories.php via a web browser
This site can be accessed via mobile phones, tablets, and computers.
- You need the full URL of the Instagram profile that contains the Highlight content you want to download.
- This method cannot be followed to download Highlight content from private Instagram accounts.
Step 2. Type in the full link of the Instagram profile with the Highlight content you want to download
For example, you could type "https://www.instagram.com/nasa" to get all the Story content from NASA.
Step 3. Check the box "Also download Highlights"
Step 4. Click Download
If the Instagram account in question is a public account, you can see a list of all its Story and Highlight content. If the account is a private account, you will be taken to an error page. However, you can choose one of the given options to download content from the selected account.
One of the options requires you to log into your Instagram account through the site you're accessing. However, this step carries the risk of having your account information hacked. Therefore, make sure you are careful when making a choice
Step 5. Select the Story/Highlight content you want to download
Step 6. Select the size of the video you want to download
All videos, regardless of size, will be downloaded in MP4 format. The selected video will open in a new tab.
Step 7. Touch and hold (or right click) the image
The menu will be displayed afterwards.
