This wikiHow teaches you how to save pictures from Instagram to your phone or computer. While there is no direct way to save images via the Instagram app or website, there are a number of third-party sites and apps that can be used to take and download photos from Instagram on desktop computers, iPhones, and Android devices.

Method 1 of 3: Using DownloadGram on a Desktop Computer
Step 1. Open the DownloadGram website
Visit https://downloadgram.com/ in a browser. You can download photos from Instagram through this site.
Step 2. Open Instagram in a new tab
Click the " New Tab " icon to the right of the DownloadGram tab in your browser, then visit https://www.instagram.com/ to review your photo feed if you're already logged into your Instagram account.
If you are not logged into your Instagram account, enter your username and password before continuing
Step 3. Find the image you want to download
Browse the photo feed until you find the image you want to download, or visit the profile of the user who uploaded the image.
To visit a user's profile, click the “Search” text bar at the top of the Instagram page, type in their username, and click their profile in the drop-down menu
Step 4. Click the button
It's in the lower-right corner of the photo frame. After that, a new menu will be displayed.
If you're logged into someone's profile, first click the image you want to download
Step 5. Click Go to post
It's at the top of the menu. Once clicked, you will be taken to the image submission page.
Step 6. Copy the image URL
Click the address bar at the top of your browser window to bookmark the content/address, then press Ctrl+C (Windows) or Command+C (Mac) to copy the URL.
Step 7. Go back to the DownloadGram tab
Click the DownloadGram tab in your browser to open the page.
Step 8. Paste the copied URL
Click the search bar in the middle of the page, then press Ctrl+V (Windows) or Command+V (Mac). After that, you can see the Instagram post's web address/URL in the search bar.
Step 9. Click the Download button
It's a gray button below the search bar.
Step 10. Click Download image when prompted
This green button is shown below the “ Download The original. Once clicked, the image from Instagram will be downloaded to the computer, precisely in the main download folder specified by the browser.
In some browsers, you need to select the folder where the downloaded file is stored and click the “ Save " or " OK ” to download photos.
Method 2 of 3: Using InstaGet on iPhone
Step 1. Download the InstaGet app

“ App Store ” on iPhone, then follow these steps:
- Touch " Search ”.
- Touch the search bar.
- Type grabit - tag and view into the search bar.
- Touch " Search ”.
- Touch the button “ GET ” which is on the right side of the " GrabIt " application.
- Enter your Apple ID or Touch ID when prompted.
Step 2. Open InstaGet
Touch the button “ OPEN ” next to the app icon in the App Store, or tap the InstaGet app icon that appears on your device's home screen.
Step 3. Log in using your Instagram account
Enter the Instagram account username and password, then touch the “ Login ” to log in to the account.
Step 4. Touch the button
It's in the top-left corner of the screen. After that, a new menu will be displayed.
Step 5. Touch Search
It's in the middle of the menu.
Step 6. Touch the search bar
This bar is at the top of the screen.
Step 7. Enter the username
Type in the username of the account that contains the desired image, then tap the “ Search ”.
Step 8. Touch the appropriate user account
The account will appear on the top row of search results. After that, the user's Instagram page will be opened.
Step 9. Find the photo you want to download
Browse the account page until you find the photo you want to download.
Step 10. Touch the “Download” arrow
The downward-pointing arrow is below the photo. The color of the arrow will turn blue and indicate that the image has been downloaded to iPhone.
You may need to touch the “ OK ” twice to allow InstaGet to access the device's gallery or photo folder.
Method 3 of 3: Using BatchSave on Android Device
Step 1. Download BatchSave

“ Google Play Store ”, then follow these steps:
- Touch the search bar.
- Type in batchsave.
- Touch " BatchSave for Instagram ”.
- Touch " INSTALL ”.
- Touch " ACCEPT ' when prompted.
Step 2. Open BatchSave
Touch the button “ OPEN ” next to the BatchSave image, or tap the BatchSave app icon on the Android device's page/app drawer.
Step 3. Touch SKIP
It's in the lower-left corner of the screen. After that, the tutorial process will be skipped.
Step 4. Log in to your Instagram account
Type in the account username and password, then touch the “ Login with Instagram ”.
Step 5. Touch the search icon (“Search”)
It's a magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen.
Step 6. Touch the “Search for Users” text bar
This bar is at the top of the screen.
If you don't see the text box, first touch the tab " Users ” in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Step 7. Enter the username
Type in the username of the account that uploaded the image you want to download, then tap the option “ search for users ” below the text box.
Step 8. Touch the appropriate user profile
The profile will appear in the top row of search results, below the search bar. After that, the user's profile page will be opened.
Step 9. Select the desired photo
Browse the account pages until you find the photo you want to download, then tap the photo. After that, the photo will be opened.
Step 10. Touch the “Download” arrow
It's a downward-pointing arrow in the lower-right corner of the photo. After that, the photo will be downloaded to the Android device. You can find it in the photo gallery.
Tips
- When using the Instagram app, you can take screenshots of the photos you want to save.
- BatchSave allows you to select multiple photos at once by touching and holding the photos until a check mark appears. After that, tap on other photos, and hit the download arrow in the lower right corner of the screen.
