This wikiHow teaches you how to record and send background music to a post or Snap on Snapchat.

Part 1 of 3: Managing Music
Step 1. Open the music app
You can use apps like Apple Music or Spotify to add songs to Snapchat.
Step 2. Touch the desired song
Find the song you want to add to the post from a saved playlist or album.
Step 3. Touch the pause button
If the song is playing automatically, stop it immediately before the recording starts so you can determine when the music plays on the video.
If you want to play a specific part of a song in the video, touch the starting point of that section while the song is still paused
Part 2 of 3: Recording Music
Step 1. Open the Snapchat app
The icon looks like a white ghost on a yellow background.
Step 2. Play the song
Snapchat will record any song playing in the background when you start the video recording process.
- On iPhone, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to display the control center panel or “ Control Center " The previously selected song will be displayed above some of the music playback control buttons. Press " ► ” to play a song. You may need to scroll down the " Control Center ” left or right to find the music control buttons. Slide the panel down to close it after the music is playing.
- On Android devices, swipe down from the top of the screen to display the notification center panel (“ Notification Center "). The previously selected song will be displayed above the music playback control buttons. Press the button " ► ” to play music. Slide the panel back up to close it after the song is playing.
Step 3. Touch and hold the larger button to record a video
Snapchat will record a video with music playing in the background. The recorded part of the song is only the segment that was caught during the recording process.
Step 4. Lift your finger from the big button
Recording will be stopped. After that, the video will be displayed on the device screen.
If you don't hear any sound or music, touch the volume control button to unmute on Snapchat
Part 3 of 3: Submitting Videos
Step 1. Touch the submit button (blue arrow)
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 2. Touch each friend you want to send the video to
A blue tick will be displayed to the right of the selected friends' names.
Step 3. Touch Send
Snapchat will save and send the video to selected friends. When the video is opened and played, they can hear the song being recorded in the background.
