This wikiHow teaches you how to use Firefox's built-in screenshot tool on a computer. This tool allows you to take screenshots of entire web pages (including parts that are not displayed on the screen), as well as individual areas. Although Firefox doesn't offer a built-in screenshot feature for the Android, iPhone, or iPad versions, you can still take screenshots on the mobile version of Firefox using the phone or tablet's built-in screenshot function.

Method 1 of 3: Using Firefox's Built-in Screenshot Tool on Computer
Step 1. Open Firefox on the computer
You can find this browser in the Windows “Start” menu and in the “Start” folder. Applications ” on MacOS. Firefox includes a screenshot tool that can take a quick snapshot of the web page being accessed.

Step 2. Visit the page that needs to be snipped
You have the option to snippet any segment on the page.
Step 3. Click the three-dot icon on the address bar
This bar contains the site URL (at the top of the browser window) and the three-dot icon is at the far right of the bar. After that, the menu will be expanded.
Step 4. Click Take a Screenshot
If this is your first time taking a screenshot using Firefox, you will see a welcome page with an arrow icon on the right side of it. Click the arrow icon to move to the next page of the tutorial, and keep the button pressed until you reach the last page.
To skip the tutorial, click " SKIP ” under the window.
Step 5. Select the screenshot option
After specifying the screenshot type, a preview will be displayed. You have four options to choose from:
- Click " Save Visible ” in the upper right corner of the screen to take a snapshot of the segment of the web page currently displayed in the browser.
- Click " Save full page ” in the upper right corner of the screen to take a snapshot of the entire page, including sections or segments that are not/not yet shown on the screen.
- To sample a section/segment of the page, click and drag the cursor around the segment that needs to be sampled.
- As another option for sampling page segments, hover over the desired area until a dotted line appears around it. After that, click the selection area.
Step 6. Click Download to save the screenshot
The screenshot file will be saved to the “ Downloads ”.
If you want to paste the screenshot into another file or window instead of saving it as a separate file, click the “ Copy ”, right-click the desired location in the document or window, and select “ Paste ”.
Method 2 of 3: Taking Screenshots in Firefox on iPhone or iPad
Step 1. Open Firefox on your iPhone or iPad
Even though the iOS version of Firefox doesn't have a built-in screenshot tool, you can use the device's standard screenshot feature to sample the segments/sections of web pages that are displayed on the screen. You can find the Firefox icon on the home screen of certain devices or folders.
Step 2. Visit the page that needs to be snipped
You can only take screenshots of the part of the page that is displayed on the screen. This method will also sample other elements on the screen. However, you can remove unwanted elements later.
Step 3. Press the screen capture key combination on the iPhone or iPad
This combination differs by device model, but the screenshot preview will always be shown in the lower left corner of the screen once the screenshot is complete.

iPhone X and later versions:
Press and hold the button on the right side of the device, then press the volume up button on the left side of the device. Release all buttons at the same time afterwards.

iPhone 8, SE, and earlier:
Press and hold the button on the top or side of the device, as well as the “Home” button at the same time. Lift all fingers after the screen flashes.

iPad Pro 11-inch and 12.9-inch:
Press and hold the button on the top of the device, then press the volume up button. Release all buttons at the same time afterwards.
Step 4. Save or edit the screenshot
Once the snapshot is captured, you can leave it to save the file, or edit it if necessary.
- To save the screenshot without editing it, simply swipe the preview image in the lower left corner of the screen in any direction until the image disappears. A copy of the screenshot will be saved to the “ Screenshots ” on app Photos.
- To edit a screenshot, tap the preview image in the lower-left corner of the screen. Use the editing tools at the bottom of the screen to modify the image as needed, then tap “ Done ” at the top left side of the screen to save changes.
Method 3 of 3: Taking Screenshots in Firefox on Android Devices
Step 1. Open Firefox on the Android device
Although the Android version of Firefox doesn't have a built-in screenshot tool, you can use the device's standard screenshot feature to sample the segments/sections of web pages that are displayed on the screen. The Firefox icon can be found in the app drawer or maybe one of the home screens.
The steps for taking a screenshot on an Android phone or tablet will vary by device manufacturer and model. Usually, you need to press two buttons at the same time, but the choice of which button to press will depend on the manufacturer and version of the device
Step 2. Go to the page you want to snippet
You can only take screenshots of the section or segment of the page that is displayed on the screen. This method also includes other elements that appear on the screen.
Step 3. Press the screen capture key combination according to the device model
You can find the exact key combination by searching the internet for the information using the device model name and the keyword "screenshot". The right combination of keys is pressed if the screen flashes afterward. Screenshots are automatically saved to the device gallery. Here are some possible key combinations to press:
- Android 9.0 (some models): Press and hold the power button until the quick menu appears, then select “ Screenshots ”.
- Older versions of Android: Press and hold the power and “Home” buttons at the same time, then lift your finger when the screen flashes. If the “Home” button is not available, use the power and volume down buttons.
- If the device uses Google Assistant, activate the feature and say the command "Ok Google, take a screenshot" (or "Ok Google, take a screenshot" if you set Indonesian as the Google Assistant language).
- Some device models use special hand gestures (eg Samsung Palm Swipe). If this gesture feature is enabled on your phone or tablet, you can take a screenshot by swiping your palm vertically across the screen.
