Admit it, acne is a medical disorder that is actually mild, but can make you feel very frustrated when approached by it, right? These skin problems are prone to occur to those of you who have entered puberty and are growing up, and may attack even the most unexpected parts of the body, such as the nose. Want to know how to fix it? Come on, read this article!
Step
Method 1 of 4: Treating Acne on Nose
Step 1. Try applying a cleansing cream or soap that contains benzoyl peroxide
Benzoyl peroxide is one of the commonly used ingredients in various acne medications, mainly because of its ability to kill acne-causing bacteria and open up clogged skin pores. Therefore, try applying it to the area around the nose to get rid of stubborn pimples. If possible, look for products that contain about 2.5% to 10% benzoyl peroxide, which is commonly sold in the form of cleansing soaps and acne medications.
Benzoyl peroxide can make skin dry, sting, redden, and experience a burning sensation when applied. Therefore, make sure you use it according to the instructions on the packaging
Step 2. Use an acne product that contains salicylic acid
Salicylic acid is one type of acne-fighting ingredient that can be purchased over-the-counter in the form of cleansing soaps and acne medications. Generally, products sold in the market contain about 0.5% to 5% salicylic acid.
Salicylic acid can irritate and irritate the skin. Therefore, make sure you use it according to the instructions on the packaging
Step 3. Try applying over-the-counter retinoid products
Differin gel (adapalene) is an example of a retinoid gel that can be purchased without a prescription. In particular, the gel is useful for opening pores and getting rid of blackheads that commonly accompany acne on the nose. However, be aware that retinoids can make the skin too dry and irritated, especially in the initial application process. Therefore, make sure you always follow the instructions for use listed on the package of the gel!
Step 4. Clean your face every day
To prevent the formation of pimples on the nose and other areas of the face, wash your face twice a day if possible. Also clean your face after doing activities that make your skin sweat, especially since increased sweat production can also increase the risk of acne formation.
Clean your face with gentle, circular motions. Remember, the face should be cleaned regularly, but should not exceed twice a day
Step 5. Try applying a blackhead patch
First of all, clean your face first. Then, apply the tape to the nose that is still wet, and wait for the texture to dry and harden. While waiting for the plaster to dry, the dirt contained in the blackhead will be sucked into the adhesive material contained on the surface of the plaster. As a result, dirt and blackheads that clog pores will also be removed when you remove the plaster.
- Blackhead plaster can only be applied to clean and wet skin so that its benefits can be maximized.
- Wait for the tape to dry completely before pulling it off. Once the tape is dry, gently pull it off your nose completely.
Step 6. Use makeup that is not at risk of causing acne
Some types of cosmetics can cause skin irritation and breakouts. If you have a pimple on your nose, consider eliminating makeup at all or minimizing its use. Make sure you also choose a foundation that does not contain oil and is labeled non-comedogenic so there is no risk of clogging the skin pores.
- The chemical and oil content in facial makeup, even if it's labeled hypoallergenic, is still at risk of clogging pores and causing acne.
- Always remove makeup before going to bed so that the skin pores are not clogged!
Step 7. Wear sunscreen cream to protect facial skin, especially the nose, from excessive sun exposure
Be careful, overexposure to the sun and the use of sunbeds can damage the skin and increase the risk of acne. If you are going to be active outdoors, always wear a special sunscreen or moisturizer that already contains a high enough SPF.
Some types of acne medications can also increase the skin's sensitivity to ultraviolet light. Therefore, protect the skin from the sun if you are taking medicines that include this information on the packaging
Step 8. Check with a doctor
Try applying the various home methods above for three to four weeks. If the condition of acne does not improve, immediately consult a dermatologist. If your acne is moderate to severe, make sure you check with your doctor before trying any of the methods in this article!
- Without the help of experts, it is feared that new problems will arise. After all, nothing can replace the role of an expert doctor or dermatologist to evaluate and diagnose your unique skin, right? After examining your skin condition, most dermatologists will recommend some form of approach to getting rid of blackheads, whiteheads, and/or pimples on your nose.
- The dermatologist may prescribe medication or recommend alternative therapies, such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, light therapy, or laser therapy. In addition, a dermatologist can also help remove blackheads on your face using a special tool called a blackhead extractor.
Method 2 of 4: Establish a Good Facial Cleansing Routine
Step 1. Choose a cleansing soap labeled noncomedogenic
This means that soap with this label won't clog your pores, so it doesn't have the potential to cause breakouts. Make sure you also choose a cleansing soap that is mild and friendly to the skin, yes!
Try using gentle, water-based cleansing soaps, such as Neutrogena, Cetaphil, and Eucerin. This method will especially work more optimally on those of you who have oily facial skin
Step 2. Clean the face
Wet your face with warm water, then pour a small amount of cleansing soap into the palms of your hands, and massage it into your facial skin for two minutes with gentle, circular motions.
To clear a pimple on the nose, pay extra attention to the nose area and the curves around it. Apply the cleansing soap to these areas thoroughly
Step 3. Rinse face
Splash warm water on your face or wash off the remaining cleansing soap using a towel that has been soaked in warm water. Continue the process until the face is completely clean of soap.
- Do not dry facial skin by rubbing it. Be careful, this action can irritate the skin, redden, or even produce excess acne.
- Use a cotton towel to dry your face after cleaning.
Step 4. Moisturize facial skin
Apply a noncomedogenic moisturizer, such as those sold under the brands Neutrogena, Cetaphil, and Olay. If you want, you can also try other moisturizers that are sold at various beauty stores, but make sure the product you choose has a non-comedogenic label.
Apply this method twice a day and after the body sweats heavily
Method 3 of 4: Using Natural Medicines
Step 1. Use herbal acne remedies
Various types of herbs can function as astringents that can shrink tissue and reduce inflammation of the skin. If you wish, astringents can be directly applied to the affected area using a cotton swab or the tips of your fingers. However, do not use it every day so that the skin is not too dry! Some types of herbs that can be used to dry acne are:
- Black tea and green tea
- Lemon juice
- Chamomile tea
- yarrow tea
- Sage tea
- Apple cider vinegar
Step 2. Make a herbal mask
Face masks can help cleanse, tighten, and restore skin condition, and reduce acne production, you know! What's more, herbs that contain astringents can also help tighten or even out skin texture, while herbs that contain antibacterial properties can help kill bacteria. If desired, the mask can be applied to all parts of the face or to specific areas. Try practicing a basic herbal mask recipe made from a mixture of 1 tbsp. honey which contains antibacterial and astringent substances, and 1 egg white which also functions as an astringent.
- Add 1 tsp. Lemon juice acts as a natural astringent.
- Add tsp. any of the following essential oils that are particularly rich in antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties: peppermint, spearmint, lavender, calendula, and thyme.
- Apply the mask all over the nose area, or use your fingertips to apply the mask to a specific area. Leave the mask for 15 minutes until the texture dries, then rinse thoroughly using warm water.
- Gently pat skin dry and apply a non-comedogenic moisturizer immediately after.
Step 3. Use a mask of sea salt
If you wish, you can also dry the pimple on your nose using a mixture of 1 tsp. sea salt and 3 tsp. hot water. If you don't want to apply it all over your face, just apply the mask to the affected area using your fingers. Make sure the mask doesn't hit the area around the eyes, OK!
- Leave the mask on for 10 minutes, no more! Be careful, sea salt can suck the liquid from the face and make the texture too dry.
- Rinse thoroughly using cold or warm water. Gently pat to dry.
Step 4. Create an exfoliant
Don't use exfoliants that are too rough or skin-friendly! Besides the risk of leaving mild to serious scars, doing so can also worsen the condition of acne, especially because the texture of the scrub grains that are too coarse may exfoliate skin cells that are not ready to exfoliate. Therefore, try to make a more skin-friendly exfoliant from natural ingredients, and exfoliate two to three times a week.
- To make an exfoliant from baking soda, mix 60 ml of honey with enough baking soda until it has a paste-like texture. Then, massage the exfoliant into the affected area using gentle, circular motions, or apply it directly using your fingertips. Do the process for two to three minutes, then rinse with warm water until clean.
- Grind 120 grams of whole rolled oats with the help of a food processor. Then, add enough olive oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E, avocado oil, or almond oil to make an oatmeal paste. Using gentle, circular motions, massage the exfoliant into the affected area, or apply it directly using your fingertips. Do this process for two to three minutes, then rinse the face with warm water.
- To make an exfoliant from a mixture of sugar and olive oil, try mixing 120 ml of olive oil with 1 tsp. sugar. Then, apply the mixture to the affected area using gentle, circular motions for two to three minutes, then rinse your face with warm water.
Method 4 of 4: Using the Steam Method
Step 1. Clean the face
Before steaming, the face must first be cleaned so that the number of pimples does not increase. Therefore, wet your face with warm water, then apply the cleansing soap with the help of your fingers evenly.
Then, rinse your face with warm water and make sure there is no cleansing soap left. Pat lightly with a towel to dry it
Step 2. Select the essential oil to use
To maximize its cleansing benefits, you can also add a few drops of an essential oil that can eradicate acne into the water! For example, try using tea tree essential oil, citrus oil, lavender oil, rosemary oil, or peppermint oil.
Use the same type of oil as in the cleansing soap or any other oil of your choice
Step 3. Fill the bowl with boiling water
First of all, boil 950 water in a saucepan. Once the water boils, immediately pour it into a heatproof bowl, then pour a few drops of your favorite essential oil into it.
Don't have essential oils? Try replacing it with tsp. dried herbs for every 950 ml of water
Step 4. Hang the face over the bowl
Opening the pores of the face with the help of steam can help cleanse the skin and increase the effectiveness of astringents to dry out acne. To do this method, you need to first place a large towel on the top of your head. Once the water has cooled down a bit but the steam hasn't gone away, hang your face about 30 cm above the surface of the bowl.
- Close your eyes. Steam your face for 10 minutes by placing a towel on top of your head to open your pores.
- Do not hang your head too close to hot water. Be careful, your facial skin and blood vessels can be damaged by it!
Step 5. Repeat the process
After 10 minutes, remove the face from the steam and cover it with a cold towel. After the towel has been left on your face for 30 seconds, return to steaming. Repeat the process 3 times, and end each process by compressing your face with a cold towel.
This method aims to constrict and dilate the fine blood vessels on the surface of the face. As a result, the skin can feel firmer and circulation will improve afterwards
Step 6. Rinse and dry
After a series of processes is done, clean your face with warm water, then pat gently with a towel to dry. Then, immediately apply a noncomedogenic moisturizer to the skin to moisturize it.
