This wikiHow teaches you how to find out which outgoing mail server (SMTP) is configured for an account in Microsoft Outlook.

Method 1 of 2: On Windows
Step 1. Open Microsoft Outlook on the computer
This program is stored in the “All Apps” section of the “Start” menu on a Windows computer.
Step 2. Click the File menu
It's in the upper-left corner of the Outlook window.
Step 3. Click Info
It's at the top of the left column.
Step 4. Click Account Settings
This option is in the middle column. The existing menu will be expanded afterwards.
Step 5. Click Account Settings
If you are using an older version of Outlook, this option may be the only option on the menu. A pop-up window will appear after that.
Step 6. Click the account you want to check
After that, the account name will be marked.
Step 7. Click Change
This option is in the selection bar above the box containing the account name. A new window will expand.
Step 8. Locate the SMTP server next to the text Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
This server is the server the account uses to send messages.
Step 9. Click Cancel to close the window
Method 2 of 2: On MacOS
Step 1. Open Microsoft Outlook on the Mac computer
You can usually find the program icon in Launchpad and in the “Applications” folder.
Step 2. Click the Tools menu
It's in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Step 3. Click Accounts
A window containing account information will be displayed.
Step 4. Click the account you want to check
The saved accounts are shown in the left column. If you only have one account, it will automatically be selected.
Step 5. Look for the SMTP server next to the text Outgoing server
This entry displays the hostname of the server Outlook uses to send messages from the account.
