This wikiHow teaches you how to get your Sim Inspired in The Sims 4. Inspiration is great for Sims who enjoy writing, playing music, or doing other creative activities. This guide is intended for the English game The Sims 4.
Step
Step 1. Select the Sim you want to inspire
Select the house that the Sim lives in, then select the Sim portrait you want to be inspired by.
Step 2. Make your Sim happy
Before getting your Sim inspired, the Sim must be in a happy state. Some ways to make a Sim happy are:
- Eliminate existing negative emotions. If there are negative emotions that dominate your Sim's feelings (such as shyness), eliminate these emotions first.
- Sims will become nervous, uncomfortable, or sad if their needs are not met. When the need is full, the Sim will be happy.
- Involve the senses. Instruct your Sim to eat something delicious, drink a high-quality drink, listen to the radio, or visit a well-decorated room.
- You can also use cheat codes. Press Ctrl+⇧ Shift+C, enter testingcheats true, then press Enter. After that, press and hold Shift then click your Sim. Select Make Happy.
Tip:
Once your Sim becomes inspired, the feeling of happiness will make the Sim very inspired.
Step 3. Instruct Sim to do activities that can inspire
Once your Sim is happy, certain activities can inspire him. Below are some of these activities:
- Choosing the Take a Thoughtful Shower option
- Using Molding Clay
- View artwork on a computer by selecting the Browse Art option
- Doing research on musical instruments on the computer.
- Choose the Plucking, Plunking, or Bowing for Inspiration option on guitar, piano, or violin.
- Guided when improving skills that involve creativity. Sims who are still children can be Encouraged when drawing to get them inspired.
- Hear fairy tales from childhood Sims, or listen to the enthusiasm of other Sims.
- Daydreaming (can only be done by Sims who are still children; must have creativity level 5)

Step 4. Do inspiring activities related to the world of work or abilities
If your Sim has a certain personality, special abilities, or a certain career, there are some interactions that can inspire him. As an example:
- Sims with the Foodie personality can search for recipes on their computer or watch cooking shows on TV.
- Sims who have a Music Lover personality can perform Listen Deeply to Music activities.
- Sims with the Bookworm personality can analyze books.
- Sims with low painting and writing skills can paint and write books.
- Sims who have a certain level of ability (level 2 for musical instruments, level 8 for Gourmet Cooking abilities) can research abilities on the internet.
- Sims with level 6 guitar skills can play guitar. Sims with high Mixology abilities can make drinks.
Step 5. Place objects with auras that can inspire your Sim
Some objects have an emotional aura whose effects can be felt up close. Therefore, if your Sim is nearby, the object will give your Sim a moodlet that matches his emotions. Place an object in the room, select it in Live Mode, then click Enable Emotional Aura. Some objects with an emotional aura are:
- Pumpkin Masterpiece
- Postcard
- Emotional painting
- Prizes from a Culinary, Painter, or Writer career.
- Lemon Incense (from the Day Spa expansion pack)
- Gift Lamp from The Sims 3 Ambitions or Supernatural
Tip:
If you don't want to activate the emotional aura, instructing the Sim to interact with the object will still give the Sim an emotional moodlet.
Step 6. Make the Sim very inspired
If your Sim has eight or more positive moodlets, for example six happy moodlets and two inspired moodlets, the Sim will be highly inspired. Highly inspired emotions will enhance your Sim's creativity, for example improving the quality of his paintings and cooking.
Tips
- If a Sim goes to work while inspired, his work performance may improve greatly if he works in the Culinary, Entertainment, Arts, or Literature fields.
- Sims with Creative personalities may get a random inspired moodlet.
- Sims with the Muser personality can increase their creative abilities more quickly when inspired or highly inspired.
- Sims who have Mixology ability level 10 or Potion Master personality can make Inspired Potions (potions that can inspire)
- If the Sim that is being inspired is vomited by a Cowplant, you can milk the Cowplant to get the Essence of Inspiration (this drink will give the Sim an inspired moodlet when drunk).
- Some interactions in the game have random possibilities that your Sim can be inspired by, such as listening to jazz or classical music, or looking at works of art. Sims who are still children or teenagers can also be inspired when they come home from school.
