You've probably seen other people so good at playing Tetris; he moved the blocks so fast that it seemed beyond human ability. You can also improve your skills and play at a high level; Learn some tricks like "T-Spin" or stay away from "trash", and you too can become an intangible player!

Step 1. Learn how to do a T-Spin

In some versions of Tetris, T-Spin will give you extra points. Don't worry, this trick is easier than it looks!

  • Prepare the T-Slot. A T-Slot must be exactly the same size as a T-Block, with one central block and three horizontal blocks above it. See the image at the beginning for reference. Make sure the space down to the T-Slot is only two blocks wide.
  • Let the T block fall slowly to the bottom. Stay tuned as this block moves.
  • When the T block is near the bottom, press the up button to rotate it. It may seem impossible, but you can actually rotate the T-block under the overhanging block.
  • T-Spin can be worth 400 points. If you successfully complete 2 lines with T-Spin, you will earn even more points.
  • As the level and speed get high, you can rotate the blocks to keep slowing down the time they fall. Learn how to use the appropriate and counterclockwise rotation knob, and don't forget to hold the I block occasionally in Hold. You can prepare for the combination by leaving two blocks wide at the edges of the pile, and inserting the blocks vertically as they approach the top. Play smart and you can get up to 9 combinations or more.

Step 2. Do Tetris

"Tetris" is when you complete four lines at the same time. The easiest way to do this is to form 4 solid rows, and leave a column of blocks on one side. Tetris can help you earn lots of points quickly, and become a powerful weapon in two-player mode.

Step 3. Decide on your playing style

There are several ways to play Tetris, but the following are two styles that are common to novice players:

  • Horizontal: Most people start here by trying to spread all the blocks horizontally and ignore the trash. Players only focus on leveling the falling blocks.
  • Vertical: Some people experiment with this method after the horizontal method. This usually happens when the player is used to the junk blocks and the disasters they bring. Try to put everything vertically, but focus on filling in the holes and not letting trash build up.

Step 4. Try to avoid trash

Garbage, simply put, is a hole formed in the Matrix (playing field) due to misplaced blocks. Due to garbage, certain rows cannot be completed because there is an empty space that should be filled by blocks. Getting rid of trash is very inconvenient (hence the name "garbage"). Players usually try to avoid the appearance of garbage. However, sometimes if they believe they can get rid of them, players will let the trash appear and be resolved later.

Step 5. Keep pushing yourself

Don't repeat the game right away if it doesn't go well; try to save him! If you can manage at the start of the game, try to choose a level that's challenging enough without getting you frustrated. Practices like these will make you great in no time.

Step 6. Beat other players

2-player battle (2- Player Battle) is the usual mode in Tetris. In this mode, you and your opponent compete against intelligence, determination, and strategy. The first player to top out (i.e. when the block completely reaches the top of the playing field) loses.

  • Learn how to attack your opponent. Rows are sent to your opponent's Matrix when you complete two or more rows, make a combination, or get a T-Spin. When you send two lines to your opponent, he will receive one line. When you give 3, he receives 2, but when you send Tetris (4 lines), the opponent receives all four. T-Spin and combinations also deal a lot of damage to the opponent.

One thing that is almost never mentioned is Dual-Tetris. This attack sends 10 rows (4 for the first Tetris, and 6 rows if you immediately re-Tetris) towards the opponent, and considering the Matrix is 20 Mino high, Dual-Tetris will give half the Matrix to the opponent! This method often directly defeats the opponent. Here's how to do it: in Tetris, there's something called Hold Queue. You can press C or SHIFT (default setting) to place blocks in Hold Queue. When you've improved somewhat, prepare a stack of at least 8 rows high. However, be aware of the risks; if your opponent performs Dual-Tetris or regular Tetris, your defeat is certain. While preparing those 8 rows, it's a good idea to hold one I block (stick) on HOLD, then start attacking when you get this block back. When you get an I block when you previously kept the same block in Hold, use one to do Tetris. Then, press the Hold button again to bring out the saved I block, and use it to get Tetris again

Step 7. Practice

Surely you are familiar with the saying lah can be because it is normal. The interesting thing about Tetris is that once you've played it once, you'll feel like you're getting better after 1 minute. Play as much as you can, and if you like it enough, you'll eventually find your own style of play.

Method 1 of 1: Tetris Friends Game Modes

Step 1. Play Marathon:

A person is not legally a Tetris player if he has never played a Marathon (marathon) at least once. This is where it all started. Basically, Marathon is a classic mode of Tetris, where blocks fall from above, and players have to spin them to fill holes until the row is completely filled. Rows that are completely filled with blocks will be taken up by the Matrix (game field) and disappear. At that time, all the blocks above the missing row will go down one row to fill the empty space.

Step 2. Try Sprints:

Once you understand Marathon, know that all other game modes are based on that mode. The scoring method is the same, but requires a different strategy. Sprints are exactly the same as Marathon, only Ada isn't trying to last as long as possible (hopefully at level 16 when the game ends in Tetris Friends). Instead, your goal is to complete 40 lines as quickly as possible. You don't have to worry about scores or anything else, just focus on completing 40 lines. There's a timer at the top of the screen that tells you how well you're playing. Usually, the time under 2 minutes is very good, especially under 1 minute 30 seconds. If you manage to complete the game in under 1 minute, you are already a seasoned player.

Step 3. Try Survival:

The Survival mode is exactly the same as Marathon, in that you try to complete lines to reach the next level. However, instead of one line at a time, you must complete 10 lines. In addition, instead of reaching level 15, you need to pass level 20 to be considered a very good game and get 40 Tokens. However, there is a condition. Immediately after completing level 20, the Bonus Round starts immediately and all the blocks that have been dropped so far begin to flash and disappear. Every now and then, you can see the block at a glance. This is why this mode is called survival. In order to survive long enough in the Bonus Round, you must have a good memory, and remember locations exactly of each falling block.

Step 4. Challenge yourself with Ultra:

This mode also includes the classic mode in Tetris. In the past, only two modes were available in Tetris, Marathon and Ultra. Here, you have 2 minutes to get as many points as possible. Think of it as a time trial. This mode is great for practicing speed. Speed is an important aspect of Tetris.

Step 5. Taste the 5-Player Sprint:

This is the mode you'll be playing a lot in the beginning, before being completely abandoned. The reason is that this is the first multiplayer mode to get (and the only one if you don't have an account) in Tetris Friends, you face off against 4 other players and try to beat them by completing 40 lines faster than the others. Sometimes the game in this mode is quite exciting. In this mode you can earn Ranks (which is more or less the same as leveling up). The higher the level, the more difficult the competition.

Tips

  • If you start dreaming about Tetris and think things on the streets seem to match up after you've played for a while, don't worry, you're not crazy. This happens to serious Tetris players. The effect is usually only 3 times, and it's actually quite fun! Your brain is just adjusting.
  • It's normal because it's normal, so be diligent in practicing.
  • You can buy a small portable Tetris game at the mall or toy store. The game usually has black and white graphics, but it's still worth practicing.
  • Even though the Tetris blocks continue to fall and the entire array moves down to fill the empty space, there is no gravity in Tetris. Sometimes you may see Mino (little square) floating in the air, with no blocks around it, which usually happens because you finish the line in a weird way. Sometimes you can use this to do things. This oddity is not a glitch, but rather a special algorithm that Tetris uses.
  • You may be compelled to tidy up your room. Just do it! This activity can be a great exercise and your room will become more comfortable.
  • In the beginning, don't use Ghost Pieces (turn it off) or Hold Queue (just don't press the button). The difficulty will be very high, but just do it. Sooner or later, you will start to like the game and become addicted. Instead of losing at level 3, you might lose at level 6, then 8, then 10. If you reach level 5 without Ghost or Hold, start igniting and using both.
  • We recommend the following control layouts:

    Above:FALL HARD

    Bottom:FALL SLOWLY

Left and right: LEFT AND RIGHT

    Z and X: ROUND ACCORDINGLY AND ANTI-CLOCKLY

    C:HOLD

  • If you're having trouble using T-Spin, try to identify patterns in the matrix that can make layout easier; Everyone's way of playing is different, but for me it's all about pattern. Once you identify it in the current game, it will be easier to apply it in the next game.
  • Find the type of Tetris you like to play. Tetris has many versions and variations. Here are some possibilities:

    • Tetris Friends: This is a great site to play on, whether you're a beginner, intermediate, pro, or even legendary. The site has ghost blocks, hard drops (instant), leaderboards, hold queues, custom controls, and even real-time multiplayer. The currently available multiplayer modes are 5-Player Sprint Mode and 2-Player Battle Mode.
    • Play Tetris: is the site for the older version of Tetris, has no hold queue, doesn't award points for T-Spin, and is more difficult to control because the game takes longer to recognize commands, and can't be changed. Only for one player.
    • Free Tetris: This site is exactly like Play Tetris, only the screen is bigger.
