If you want to view photos or notes on your iPhone in a horizontal screen orientation, you don't have to worry. You can easily change the default vertical or portrait view on the iPhone to landscape (horizontal) by disabling the phone's rotation lock. The view or landscape orientation is suitable for watching widescreen videos in full screen mode, typing long messages, and more. However, keep in mind that some apps and locations (eg " Clock " or home screen apps) do not support screen rotation.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Disabling Rotation Lock

Step 1. Touch the Home button on the device
Usually, you can change the screen rotation by simply disabling the built-in rotation lock and then tilting your iPhone to the side.
You can also touch the iPhone lock button because at this stage, you need to activate or turn on the iPhone screen

Step 2. Swipe the screen upwards from the bottom
After that, “Control Center” will be displayed. In these settings, you can enable or disable rotation lock.

Step 3. Touch the padlock icon
It's in the upper-right corner of the "Control Center" menu. Before touching, the icon will be displayed on a red background.
When the icon is touched, you can see a line of text above the “Control Center” menu with the message “Portrait Orientation Lock: Off”. After that, the red background on the icon will disappear

Step 4. Unlock iPhone
If you set a passcode or Touch ID on your device, you will need to enter the passcode (or scan your finger on the Home button) to unlock the device. Otherwise, touch the Home button again.

Step 5. Open the desired application
You can't rotate the Home screen view, but you can usually rotate the screen display in most apps.
Keep in mind that some apps, such as “Clock”, do not support changing/rotating the screen. Also, any app views that apply horizontal screen rotation automatically (usually games) cannot be rotated back (eg to vertical or portrait mode)

Step 6. Rotate iPhone by 90 degrees to the left or right
After that, the screen display will follow the rotation of the device. If you have an application that supports screen rotation, you can view the application in horizontal or landscape mode.
- When turning your phone, make sure you hold it in an upright (portrait) or sideways (landscape) position, with the screen facing you.
- If you re-enable the rotation lock while the device display is still in the horizontal mode, the screen display will automatically change back to the vertical mode.
Part 2 of 2: Using the AssistiveTouch Feature

Step 1. Touch the settings menu icon ("Settings") to open it
AssistiveTouch is an accessibility feature that allows users to perform actions that would normally be executed using physical buttons (eg lock button). You can also use the AssistiveTouch feature to rotate the screen display in a certain direction while using supported apps. Keep in mind that you have to disable the phone rotation lock first.
The settings menu is marked by a gray gear icon and displays all of the iPhone's settings options, from basic settings to advanced settings

Step 2. Touch the “General” tab
After that, the "General" menu will be displayed. In this menu, you can change several aspects of the device such as appearance, functionality, and performance.

Step 3. Touch the “Accessibility” tab
Look for the " AssistiveTouch " tab displayed on this page.

Step 4. Touch the “AssistiveTouch” tab
This tab is in the “Interaction” group of options in the “Accessibility” menu. You may need to swipe to access these options, depending on the screen size of your phone.

Step 5. Touch the toggle that is next to the “AssistiveTouch” option
The color of the switch will change to green indicating that the AssistiveTouch feature is active. Now, you can see a gray square on the phone screen.

Step 6. Exit the settings menu (“Settings”), then open the desired application
Applications " Photos " or " Notes " can be a good choice because they both support screen rotation.

Step 7. Touch the gray square button
After that, the button will open into a menu with several options, such as "Notification Center", "Device", and "Control Center".
Pay attention to the "Home" option at the bottom of the menu. The button has the same function or action as the " Home " button (which is at the bottom of the screen) when touched

Step 8. Touch the “Device” option
After that, you will be taken to a menu with more diverse choices.

Step 9. Tap on “Rotate Screen” option
As long as rotation lock is turned off, this option allows you to rotate the screen display in the desired direction.

Step 10. Touch "Right" or "Left" to activate horizontal or landscape view mode
If the opened application supports screen rotation, the screen display will rotate immediately after you make your selection.
