For anyone, every day is a new chapter. Do you feel confined in life? You want to start a new life and make some changes? Do you feel like Bill Murray's character in Groundhog Day, who keeps repeating the same day? Starting a new life can be scary, but you deserve to live the life you want. Here are some ways that can help you reflect on your life again, start over and move on.

Step

Part 1 of 2: Reflecting on Your Life

Step 1. Accept your past

You can't start a new life if you hold on to the past. Whether it's your personal relationships, work, family, or other circumstances, you have to accept every single thing that has happened.

  • Accepting does not mean to forgive or understand. It just means that you are aware of what has happened, acknowledge it, and are ready to move on from it.
  • Remember that pain and suffering are not the same thing. You will feel pain and hurt when your life doesn't go your way, but you don't have to suffer. Suffering is a choice. Nothing lasts forever, including pain. So you have to recognize, live, and move on. Don't focus your life on pain and failure; get out of that life story and avoid the drama in it (eg "I won't find love again" or "I won't get another job").

Step 2. Remember that there is a reason behind every event

It's not that you don't have the power or that things are "destined" to happen a certain way. On the other hand, something has no meaning other than the meaning you create yourself. Whether you will make each occurrence, event, and moment in your life strengthen or weaken you is up to you.

The life lessons you learn will not be obvious; instead, you must discover for yourself what to take from your life's journey. For example, what if you were demoted from a position in your career because your business idea was too big or you took the company in a different direction than management expected? Instead of seeing it as a failure on your part, think of it as an assurance that your vision and that of your boss are fundamentally different and that maybe it's time to part ways so you can realize your vision elsewhere

Step 3. Think about your failures as well as your successes

You can't "stop living life". So instead of feeling sad when things don't go according to plan, ask yourself, "What went well in this situation or situation?"

  • Write it down. Keep notes to yourself of your successes, even small ones. Every night, write down something that went well that day. Focusing on the positive will help bring you more success!
  • Then think of ways that you can further develop the things that you find successful. For example, maybe you realize that you are good at talking to customers but the location isn't right for your business and you need to move to a more crowded location. Think about what worked for you and how you could improve on it even more.

Step 4. Don't announce that you will start a new life

Just do it. You don't have to announce the choices you make to make changes in your life. You don't have to tell or ask other people what you should do. When we feel unsure, we often discuss with other people to feel better about our plans or to prepare themselves for the changes that are taking place. However, your life belongs to YOU. Get on with your life and people will thrive with you. Those who can't accept your change are not meant to be in your life.

The next steps you take in life are for your own sake, not that of those around you. Most of the conflict that will arise is actually more about them and not you because it makes them question their own lives. Remember that only you should be comfortable with your choices and decisions in life

Part 2 of 2: Waiting for the Future

Step 1. Find your purpose in life

Thinking about the meaning of your life is one of the major first steps toward the big changes you make.

  • What are your skills? What activities do you enjoy? What is your passion? What makes you feel important? Answering these questions is key in figuring out what will make you happy and give your life meaning.
  • Say you love yoga and have been taking yoga classes 3 times a week for 5 years. Maybe it's not your hobby, but your passion! Maybe you want to go from student to teacher. Think about what really satisfies you in life and makes you feel that you are making a change and make that the core of your life.
  • Life is only worth living if you really feel alive. If you've always wanted to teach yoga, why don't you do it? You only live once, so make sure you live it right. Don't wait for an excuse to start living your life the way you want.

Step 2. Define your goals and make a decision

Once you've determined your general goals and main goals in life, decide specifically how you're going to achieve those goals and then make the necessary changes. Will you break up with your lover? Or will you move to another city? Or are you going back to your education?

  • Set short, medium, and long term goals for yourself. Write it down and place it where you can see it every day (such as on the refrigerator door or stick it on the mirror in your bedroom).
  • Organize your life. You can't change your life if you live it in a messy and disorganized way. Once you know exactly what you want to achieve, you can start planning the changes that must be made.

Step 3. Choose a new path

Do something different and surprise yourself; maybe you will learn something about yourself and your abilities that you didn't know before.

  • One of the best ways to push yourself out of an unfulfilling life is to do something completely different. Take a trip to a place you've never been. Start learning another language. Do a new sport or exercise, be it gymnastics, kickboxing, or cycling.
  • Even if you don't think you'll do well, try something new. Trying something new will challenge us inside and out and give us a new sense of zest in life because we can see the endless possibilities of tomorrow.
  • The unknown is scary, but doing what you know and moving on with a disappointing and unfulfilling life path is just as scary. You may feel nervous or indecisive about starting a new life but you should think about whether this is worse than the disappointment and lack of satisfaction you feel in your life right now.

Step 4. Make “current” your new motto

Live in the moment and realize that only this moment matters. Give your full attention in this moment. This is your reality, and when that moment is over, move on to the next moment. are you still breathing? Yes. So consider that time went well! Move on to the next moment that will bring you more and more to live your life actively.

Take each day one at a time. This may sound cliché, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. Do what needs to be done TODAY-not tomorrow, or next week. This is what allows you to start a new life. Trying to face the next 365 days can seem impossible, but trying to face one day ahead feels possible

Step 5. Don't be arrogant

You don't know everything. You can make mistakes. Knowing how to change your own oil, cook a fancy French dinner, or understand the intricacies of microeconomics doesn't make you a better person. But only makes you have more knowledge about a thing. Are you pursuing knowledge or the ability to prove something? Ask yourself why it's important. Does that make you happy? If not, stop! You can't do everything and you don't have to.

If you're actually interested in learning how to do something, go for it! But if you're doing something just to prove to others that you can do it or you're an all-around person, forget it. You are good enough. You don't have to prove anything to anyone

Step 6. Depend on others and ask for help

Once you're comfortable with the idea that you don't need to know everything, find out what you're doing that isn't a skill, skill or something you're interested in. Hire other people; pay someone to change your oil or wash the windows. Make decisions about how to use your time and what you can do.

Ask for help if you need it and rely on an expert in a field when you're not sure how to do something. Needing, asking for help and hiring others to help you won't make you weak and instead make you smart and resourceful. Everyone has different skills and no one can live alone

Step 7. Be prepared for times when you feel weak

Sometimes you'll feel as if your new plan didn't work out and you should go back to your old life. Make plans for times like these.

  • This may mean deleting the phone numbers of people you call or text when you're feeling down and need support, such as an ex. It may also mean not buying ready-to-eat meals at home if you realize you're going to eat anything in a time of stress.
  • It's natural to have moments of weakness. We've all fallen and vacillated between what's best for us in the FUTURE and what's easy to do in the NOW. Challenge your current self and replace it with a long-term vision of your life.

Step 8. Celebrate your progress

Remember to keep track of all progress toward your new goal. Some of the things you want to achieve may have a very long term and sometimes you can lose focus on the goals you want to achieve. Instead, remember that the long term is a collection of short terms and celebrate your successes as time goes on. You should be happy with every step you take to a new life, whether it's ending an unhealthy relationship with someone, sending out a resume, or taking a course you've never tried before. All these little things help you to create and realize the new life you have envisioned for yourself.

Step 9. Keep on living

Life is always changing and so should you. It's important to stop to enjoy the atmosphere and feel the present moment, but to stop and be still is something else. You don't want your life to come to a screeching halt again. There will always be people, new opportunities and experiences waiting for you and you must seize them!
