This wikiHow teaches you how to change the source country of the content you can watch on YouTube. You can change your country options through the desktop version of YouTube and the mobile app. Changes to the location of content on YouTube may make some videos unavailable in your home area. If you want to access videos that are not available for your area, use a proxy service instead of changing the country of origin on YouTube.

Method 1 of 3: Via Desktop Site
Step 1. Open YouTube
Visit https://www.youtube.com/. The YouTube main page will be displayed if you are already signed in to your account.
If not, click the " SIGN IN ”, then enter your email address and password before continuing.
Step 2. Click the profile icon
It's in the top-right corner of the YouTube page. A drop-down menu will appear after that.
Step 3. Click Location
It's at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
Step 4. Select the desired country
Click the country whose content you want to view. Once selected, the page will reload and the country will be set as the content location.
Changing the country on YouTube will only change the order in which the content is displayed. If you want to watch videos that are blocked in your country, use a proxy service
Method 2 of 3: Via Mobile App
Step 1. Open YouTube
Tap the YouTube app icon, which looks like the red and white YouTube logo. The main profile page will be displayed if you are already logged in to your account.
If not, type in your email address and password before continuing
Step 2. Touch the profile icon
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. A new menu will be opened after that.
Step 3. Touch Settings
It's in the center of the screen.
Step 4. Touch Location
It's at the bottom of the " YOUTUBE " options section.
On Android devices, touch the tab “ General " first.
Step 5. Select a country
Find the desired country from the list, then touch the country. You can see a check mark next to the selected country.

It's an arrow icon in the upper-left corner of the screen. The new settings will be saved.

Method 3 of 3: Using a Proxy to Unlock Videos
Step 1. Open ProxFree YouTube proxy
Visit https://www.proxfree.com/youtube-proxy.php through your computer's web browser. This website allows you to use servers in other countries to view YouTube content that is “locked” for your country.
Keep in mind that using ProxFree to prevent content blocking by the government is illegal
Step 2. Scroll to the "Server Location" segment/title
It's at the bottom of the page, on the left side.
Step 3. Click the "Server Location" drop-down box
This box is below the " Server Location " heading. After that, a drop-down menu will be displayed.
Step 4. Choose a server location
On the drop-down menu, click a country other than your home country. With a different option, YouTube will “guess” that your browser traffic is coming from the selected country, and not your original country.
For example, if you live in the United States, it is usually safer to choose European countries
Step 5. Enter the specific URL of the video you want to watch if possible
If you have a specific URL for the video you want to watch, enter the address in the text field next to the “Submit” button. PROXFREE ” which is blue.
Step 6. Click PROXFREE
It's in the middle of the page. After that, YouTube will be opened in the proxy tab.
Step 7. Browse YouTube without restrictions
You can use the YouTube search bar at the top of the page to search as usual, but previously limited content is now available.
- If you still can't find restricted content, try using a different server location.
- If you enter the specific URL of the desired video, it will appear immediately.
