This wikiHow teaches you how to make TikTok "think" you're in a different country on your iPhone or iPad. While TikTok no longer allows you to change the location of the app directly, you can take advantage of a virtual private network (VPN) to make it look as if you're in a chosen country. If you now want to see content from a specific region or country on the “For You” page, adjust the language settings and manipulate TikTok algorithms by searching for and interacting with content from the region or country you want.

Method 1 of 3: Using a VPN
Step 1. Install a virtual private network (VPN) application
A VPN service allows you to use TikTok through a proxy server in another country. For example, if you choose a VPN server in Germany, TikTok will think that you are in Germany. Free VPN application called VPN - Super Unlimited Proxy developed by Mobile Jump Pte Ltd. has nearly one million reviews and as of August 2020, the app is in 15th place in the “Productivity” category of the App Store. However, do your research before installing a free VPN app and don't do online banking or enter passwords when you're using a VPN.

Step 2. Open VPN – Super Unlimited Proxy
If you are still in the App Store window, touch the “ OPEN ” to open the application. Otherwise, tap the blue and white lock icon on the device's home screen.
Step 3. Review the terms of use of the service and touch ACCEPT AND CONTINUE
You only need to do it the first time you open the app.
Step 4. Touch the location menu
This drop-down menu is in the top center of the screen. A list of locations/countries will be displayed.
Step 5. Select the server in the desired location/country
For example, if you want to use TikTok as if you were in France, select one of the options labeled “ France ”.
Not all countries have VPN servers on the app. If you want a specific country that isn't on the list, you'll need to try a different VPN app
Step 6. Touch the big circle icon to enable VPN
This icon is in the center of the screen. The device will connect to the selected server and display a “VPN” icon in the bar at the top of the screen. As long as you see the icon, the device is already connected to the VPN server.
If this is your first time setting up a VPN, touch “ Allow ” to add VPN configuration to iPhone or iPad. Thus, all your activities on the internet will be sent to the VPN application as long as the service is activated.
Step 7. Open TikTok on your iPhone or iPad

- You'll still see the content you normally see on the “For You” page, but as you scroll through the pages, you'll get more regional videos. The more often you interact with new regional content, the more regional content will appear on the feed page.

Step 8. Go back to the VPN – Super Unlimited Proxy app and touch the power button to disconnect from the server
Make sure you terminate the connection with the server when you are done using TikTok so that you no longer use the VPN server. Once the connection is lost, you can return to using other applications and safely run or conduct online business.
Method 2 of 3: Adding Regional Languages
Step 1. Open TikTok on your iPhone or iPad
This app is marked by a black icon with a white three-dimensional musical note. TikTok takes language settings into account when displaying videos on its “For You” page. This means that if you add a language from a specific location/country, you will see videos uploaded or created by people from that location or country.
- This step is not always effective because there are many languages spoken in different regions or countries. For example, if you want to see content from the Republic of Chile, setting or adding Spanish will instead show TikTok content from Spain and Puerto Rico.
- This step will not work if your country blocks TikTok. For situations like this, you need to use a VPN.
Step 2. Touch Me
It's the human outline icon in the lower-right corner of the app window.
Step 3. Touch the menu icon •••
It's the three horizontal dots icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 4. Touch Content preferences
It's in the " Account " section at the top of the screen.
Step 5. Touch Add language
A list of languages will be displayed.
The selected languages only affect the language spoken by the video creator on the feed page. The main language of the application itself will not change
Step 6. Touch the language you want to see on the feed page
For example, if you want to see more videos from Italy, select “ Italiano You can select multiple languages if you want.
Step 7. Touch Done to save changes
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. The new language settings will be saved afterwards.
Method 3 of 3: Using Algorithms
Step 1. Open TikTok on your iPhone or iPad
This app is marked by a black icon with a white three-dimensional musical note. TikTok will display the content you suspect you want to see on the “For You” feed page. If you want to see content from a certain location/country more often, you need to experiment with the TikTok algorithm. These experiments involve searching for and interacting with content and creators from that location or country.
Step 2. Touch Discover
It's a magnifying glass icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. Trending content and a search bar will be displayed.
Step 3. Search for the country
For example, if you want TikTok to send content from Canada, even if you are in Indonesia, type Canada into the search bar, then tap “ Canada ” in the search results.
Step 4. Touch one of the most popular hashtags in the selected country to view related videos
To see all popular hashtags that match the country you are logged in/accessed, touch “ See more ” next to " Hashtags ", then select a hashtag.
Still using Canada as an example, you can look at hashtags like “canadatiktok”, “tiktokcanada”, “canadalife”, and “canadacheck”
Step 5. Touch Add to Favorites to save the hashtag
That way, you can easily view videos from that hashtag at a later time. You will also see more TikTok content from selected locations/countries on the “For You” page if you like and interact with the content.
Step 6. Watch and interact with the content
Touch a video to view it and select the heart icon to like the video (if you did, of course). You can also touch the “ + ” below the creator's photo in the upper-right corner of the screen to follow that creator. Browse video options and keep liking content and following existing creators. Both interactions like this tell TikTok that you like content from a selected location/region.
If you see content from an unwanted location or country, don't touch the like button! The goal is to make the “For You” page and other recommendations relevant to your desired location or country only
Step 7. Upload your own content using popular hashtags in the country or location in question
The TikTok content you watch and follow does help TikTok determine your preferred location or country. However, you can also add your own desired location or country-specific content (using popular hashtags for that country or location) to attract followers and fans from that location. You can also get to know or see more TikTok users with similar interests from that location or country.
