Dust is the accumulation of tiny particles, including bits of lint, paper, hair, pet dander, skin cells, dirt, and more. Allowing it to build up too much can lead to allergies and other health problems, so it's a good idea to keep it under control. It's impossible to remove all the dust from your life, but there are cleaning methods, mess remedies, and filtering techniques that can drastically reduce the amount of dust you and your family inhale every day. Method 1 of 4: Filtering the Air
Step 1. Clean or upgrade the air filter in your home
If your home is heated or cooled using a centralized system, you can change the filter to control the amount of dust in the air. Dust will continue to build up in your home, but a quality air filter can reduce the rate at which dust builds up.
A standard air filter will only filter large particles from the air to prevent damage to the heating or cooling system in your home. To reduce dust, it is recommended to use a filter made of high quality paper or pleated cloth which can be discarded and replaced every 1 to 3 months
Step 2. Have an air purifier
This machine cleans the air by capturing dust particles. They are great for households that produce a lot of dust or families with dust allergies. An air purifier only cleans the air in the room where it is, so consider having one for each bedroom and in the living room.
Method 2 of 4: Dust Cleaning
Step 1. Use a vacuum cleaner every two weeks
Using a vacuum cleaner equipped with a high-efficiency particulate air filter ensures that the vacuum sucks as much dust as possible. Clean the carpet in your home, focusing especially on the areas that people often pass. You can also clean other parts of the floor. Frequent cleaning with a vacuum cleaner will actually reduce the amount of dust that will collect under furniture and in corners of the house – you'll probably feel the difference right away.
- Make sure you replace the vacuum cleaner filter regularly.
- Make sure your vacuum cleaner is still working properly. A faulty vacuum cleaner will blow the dust back into the air, which will make the problem worse.

Step 4. Remove dust using a microfiber cloth

Step 6. Hit the pillows and carpet once a month
Like bedding, pillows and carpets tend to contain a lot of dust all the time. Every time you sit on the couch or walk on the carpet, you send dust into the air. Every 3 months, take the pillows and rugs outside for a few beats and try to remove as much dust as possible.

- Hit everywhere, not just in one place.
- Keep hitting the pillows and carpet until you don't see any dust particles flying through the air with each stroke.
Step 7. Clean the wall from top to bottom
Every few months, when you clean the entire house, wipe the walls with a microfiber cloth. Clean the walls starting from the top first, then work your way down to the bottom. That way, you can collect all the dust that falls while you're cleaning the walls.
Method 3 of 4: Removing the Clutter
Step 1. Storing knick-knacks
If every room in your house has a lot of decor items, it will be more difficult to reduce dust. Check your home and collect items that collect dust you don't need. This will make the surface of your home easier to clean.
For items that you really want to keep, consider moving some of them to a room that is rarely used by family members. That way, the main room in your house doesn't collect too much dust

Step 4. Keep the cupboards clean
Every time you open a closet door, a small change in air pressure causes lint debris to escape from clothes and fabrics, and these bits of dust collect on the floor. If your closet is cluttered, you probably won't be cleaning the floor of your closet during your cleaning routine. When the floor of the closet is clean, cleaning it will be easy and prevent dust from leaving the cupboard and flying to other places

During the rainy season and winter, you may want to consider asking people to take off their shoes at the door.
