Your Google+ profile is the social networking aspect of your Google account. In the past, this profile was required for you to use YouTube, but Google has changed that. A Google+ profile stores all of your +1's and reviews. It also stores your complete profile information. You can delete it from any device quickly.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Deleting Profile
Step 1. Visit
plus.google.com/downgrade with your favorite web browser. This can be done via a mobile device or computer. The "Delete Google + Profile" option from the Settings menu in the Google+ app will also take you to this site.
Step 2. Sign in with your Google account
You must use the account you will use to delete your Google+ profile. If the Upgrade page appears after you sign in, it means that the account doesn't have a Google+ profile.
Step 3. Check the data to be deleted
This is the data that will be deleted when you delete your Google+ profile. It also displays data that will not be deleted.
- Certain of your data on Google+ will also be deleted. This includes posts, +1s, collections, comments, and circles.
- Photos and contacts will not be deleted.
- Reviews will not be deleted but hidden.
- Any Google+ pages you create will not be deleted.
- Uploads and YouTube channels will not be deleted.
- The Google account won't be deleted, so you can still access Drive and Gmail.
Step 4. Confirm that you do want to delete the profile
You must check the " Required " box in order to continue. This is meant to prevent you from accidentally deleting data.
Deleting an account is permanent. You cannot recover the data. Make sure that you really want to continue, because you won't be able to go back
Step 5. Click " Delete " to delete your Google+ profile
This will delete your Google+ profile and all the data it contains. Maybe it will all disappear in a few days.
Part 2 of 2: Clearing Remaining Data
Step 1. Delete your review with Google Maps
Your local reviews will be saved in the " Your contributions " section of Google Maps. The review will be marked as private and hidden. If you want, you can delete it permanently.
- Sign in to the Google Maps site using the same Google account.
- Click the Menu button and select "Your contributions".
- Click the "Reviews" tab. A list of all the reviews you have ever made will be displayed here.
- Click the More button next to the review you want to delete. Select "Delete review". You'll need to confirm that you really want to delete it.
Step 2. Delete the photos that you have uploaded
The photos that you have uploaded will not be deleted even if you have deleted your Google+ profile. You have to use Picasa to remove it.
- Visit picasaweb.google.com/lh/myphotos. Sign in using your Google account.
- Download the photos you want. If you delete photos from Picasa, they will also be deleted on all of your Google products and devices. Make sure you have saved all the photos you want to save.
- Select the album. This is the fastest way to delete multiple photos. Deleting an album will also delete all the photos in it.
- Click the "Actions" button then select "Delete album". You'll need to confirm that you really want to delete the photo. Once deleted, the photo cannot be recovered.
Step 3. Delete any other profile information if any
Your Google profile will not be deleted even if you have deleted your Google+ profile. Visit aboutme.google.com to manage your public data. Check each part carefully. Delete any information that you no longer want to be associated with your Google account.
Step 4. Delete your entire Google account
If you really want to eliminate your existence from Google, delete your entire Google account. This is irrevocable and will affect all Google products, including YouTube, Search, Gmail, Drive, and more.
- Visit the Google My Account site at myaccount.google.com. Sign in with the account you want to delete.
- Click " Delete your account or services " in the " Account preferences " section. Select "Delete Google Account and data".
- Check everything to be deleted. A summary of all the data to be deleted will be displayed.
- Check the box to confirm that you really want to delete the account, then click " Delete Account ". This cannot be undone.
Tips
Although your data cannot be recovered if you delete your Google+ account, you can still use your email, so you can easily start a new Google+ account at any time
Warning
- Deleted accounts cannot be recovered. Make sure you have backed up all important files before proceeding.
- Be careful not to delete your own Google account, unless you really want to. When you delete a Google account, in addition to deleting Google+, your Gmail username will also be deleted, and you won't be able to use it again in the future.
