If a regular eyelash curler isn't enough for your make-up routine or for the look you want, a heated curler can help achieve dramatic, long-lasting curls. For optimal results, curl your lashes when you're done with all the make-up steps except the mascara and false lashes you want to use. Whether you're using a regular eyelash curler or an electric or battery-operated tweezer, preheating it will help you achieve amazing results in an easy way!
Step
Method 1 of 2: Heating Traditional Eyelash Curler
Step 1. Clean the tongs with soap and water
Rub makeup remover or soap for sensitive skin on the pads and metal parts of the clamp with a cotton swab or sponge. Make sure that no makeup residue remains on the pads or metal parts of the clamp. Rinse thoroughly with water.
Remaining makeup left on the tweezers pads can cause the mascara to clump together, resulting in an undesirable result
Step 2. Use a hairdryer to heat the tongs
Hold the tip of the tongs close to the hot air stream from the hairdryer for 10-20 seconds. Use a hairdryer with a heat-guiding nozzle, and keep it pointed at the pincers. Allow the tongs to cool slightly until they are warm so you don't hurt yourself when you touch the metal parts.
Be careful when touching the metal parts of the clamp. This part absorbs most of the heat from the dryer and can burn your skin
Step 3. Place the tongs under a stream of hot water if you don't have a hairdryer
Run hot water on tongs for 10-20 seconds. Allow it to cool slightly until it reaches a warm temperature and is harmless to the touch.
Step 4. Heat the clamp on the back of the hand
Make sure you can hold it for at least 3-5 seconds without feeling a burning sensation. If it still burns, allow the tongs to cool slightly for another 10-20 seconds before testing again.
A curler that feels too hot against your skin will also be too hot for your lashes. Using a curling tweezer that is too hot on the lashes can damage or even shed them
Step 5. Curl the eyelashes
Gently curl the lashes 2-3 times on each eye. Start near the base of the lashes and work your way out towards the tips of the lashes. This step will result in naturally curled lashes.
After curling your lashes, apply mascara to add thickness and length
Method 2 of 2: Using Clamps with Heating
Step 1. Clean the tongs with rubbing alcohol
Make sure the curler is off, use a cotton swab to apply rubbing alcohol to the area where the curler usually touches the eyelashes until clean.
Do not use water and soap to clean the electric clamp. Running an electric or battery-powered clamp in water can damage the circuit and the clamp itself
Step 2. Prepare the clamp with any additional tools or accessories needed
If the clamp is battery powered, check what type of battery is being used. If the clamp is an electric clamp, attach it to a power socket.
Most battery-powered clamps use AAA batteries
Step 3. Follow the user manual to turn it on
Some types of tongs require you to press the "On" button until it reaches the heat you want. Other types of clamps have an "On" button that only needs to be pressed once to turn it on.
Step 4. Wait for the brush to cool slightly before using it
Before using the tongs, touch the skin on the back of your hand. If it feels uncomfortable to the touch, the curler is still too hot to apply to the eyelashes. Wait for 10-20 seconds and test again.
Step 5. Use the curler on the eyelashes
Use the heated curler on the lashes 2-3 times. Do it from the inside out to the tip of the lashes. Continue by applying mascara to get results that look thicker and thicker.
Warning
- Before clamping the lashes, always test the heat of the tweezers on the skin.
- Do not leave heated tongs unattended.
