Method 1 of 3: Using Browser Incognito Mode
Step 1. Find a website that your parents have allowed you to visit
Visit the site and keep the page open.
Step 2. Find the website you want and open it in a new window or tab
Make sure you pay attention and listen to your parents or anyone who might catch you. If someone comes, immediately switch to a browser window or tab with another website.
- On Windows computers, you can quickly close tabs or browser windows using the Ctrl+W shortcut.
- On a Linux computer, you can quickly switch from one workspace to another using the mouse wheel. Open the System Settings program and click “Windows Manager Tweaks”. After that, select the “Workspaces” tab and check the “Use the mouse wheel on the desktop to switch workspaces” option.
Step 3. Clear history
When you're done visiting the site, delete all the history of websites that your parents shouldn't know on your computer.
In Firefox, there is an option you can choose to automatically delete all browsing history when you close the browser. Try looking for articles or specific instructions to set these options
Step 4. Use incognito mode
This mode is a special window in the browser that will not record internet data, history, or cache while in use. Most popular browsers have this feature.
- In Internet Explorer, press Ctrl+⇧ Shift+P to enter private browsing options. To exit incognito mode, simply close the incognito window.
- In Firefox, press Ctrl+⇧ Shift+P. To exit the inkognito window, use the same keyboard shortcut.
- On Google Chrome, press Ctrl+⇧ Shift+N to enter incognito mode. To exit, simply close the inkognito window.
Method 2 of 3: Using an Alternative Browser
Step 1. Download another browser like Firefox or Safari
Step 2. Don't make it your computer's primary browser
When installed, make sure you don't set it as your primary browser.
Step 3. Discard the proof of installation
If you are using a Windows computer, remove the quick launch shortcut and move the browser shortcut to a safe directory.
Step 4. Use the browser to browse the internet privately
Now, you can use another browser to access content that your parents shouldn't know about. The browser's favorite entries, history, cache, and cookies will be separated from the browser you normally use. Your parents will be using the main browser as usual and even if they check the browsing history, they won't find anything "odd". However, make sure your parents don't find out about the new browser you've installed.
Method 3 of 3: Using Portable Firefox
Step 1. Select the device to save the portable browser
Cell phones, MP3 players, cameras, USB flash drives, and portable hard drives that appear as removable devices in Windows can be used.

VPN

Tips
- If you are tech savvy, you can use a proxy website that will accept data packets from other servers (not from your home internet service provider). This way, packets can be hidden from the parental control features built into the router or family security program. You can also use a free VPN service that will redirect all internet logs to another server.
- It's a good idea to be home alone when you're looking for something your parents shouldn't know.
- Use your instincts. For things like this, it's better to play it safe than sorry.
- In Internet Explorer, delete browsing history by clicking the “Tools” menu, selecting “Delete browsing history”, and clicking “Delete all”. In Firefox, click the “Tools” menu, select “Clear private data”, and click “Clear private data“.
- Windows 7 was the best operating system for this experiment because the internet tab didn't show a preview of the site description. If one of the computers in your home runs the Windows 7 operating system, use that computer.
- Don't use Google to do a search. Use DuckDuckGo because Google keeps a log of search entries that you can't delete. Meanwhile, DuckDuckGo does not keep these logs.
Warning
- If you get caught, you may be banned from using the computer or your parents will activate the parental control feature and block sites you are not allowed to visit.
- Your parents would do anything for your good. It's a good idea to obey their orders and not ignore them. They are more experienced and will not let anything harm their children.
