Immortality is a characteristic commonly found in fictional characters, especially those in the fantasy or science fiction genre. If you're looking for a character to cosplay (style imitating a character, whether fictional or real), these traits can be interesting to try. You can choose a character who lives eternally and adopts the style and taste of clothing from the ancient era. You also need to be mysterious, as if you have a big secret. Once you've mastered the basics, pretending to be immortal can be a fun way to make cosplay more interesting.

Method 1 of 3: Preparing the Dress
Step 1. Select a specific character
While you can cosplay as your own original character, you can also choose timeless characters from popular television series, movies, or books. If you don't want to fully emulate the character, at least use some of his characteristics as inspiration.
- Doctor Who, a character who has changed a lot over the years, is one of the most popular enduring characters on television. Try emulating your favorite Doctor look.

- Think back to the history class you studied. What era do you find most interesting? You can choose characters from the Victorian, Medieval, or other eras that interest you.
Step 3. Wear antique clothes from the selected era
Research fashion trends according to the time period you choose. Many sites discuss the development of fashion trends in various eras and you can use them as a guide in determining the character's clothing. You can find these clothes at thrift stores, costume shops, or antique stores.
- For example, say your character is from the mid-1800s. During this time, women wore longer, tighter dresses with long, fluttering skirts. Men wear single-breasted jackets combined with trousers.
- You don't have to completely match the cosplay character's clothing to the era. Try to give it a modern or vintage touch and be uncomfortable when wearing it. For example, wear Victorian clothes that are long and tight, but a little more revealing. Then, your character can act uncomfortable and keep trying to cover up this exposed part.
Step 4. Put on an old-fashioned hairdo
Look for hairstyles that are popular in the selected era. For example, during the 1500s to 1700s, men in the United States commonly wore powder wigs. You can complete the look with this accessory.
- If you want to adopt a Victorian-era character, the hair is usually pulled back to reveal the ears and slightly curled at the top.
- In Victorian times, men's hair was usually kept short and neat. If you have long hair, trim it or wear a wig to look like a Victorian man.
Step 5. Add vintage accessories
Stop by an antique store and look for accessories that look old-fashioned. You can also look it up on the internet. If you don't want your costume to completely mimic the era, wearing old-fashioned accessories while wearing modern clothes can disguise the indication that your character is from a different time.
- Some of the accessories that were popular in the past were strap-on glasses and pocket watches. Try looking for this accessory to complete the timeless look.
- If you prefer the early United States, try wearing a bonnet hat.
- Opt for an out-of-date hat, such as a Stetson hat, for an old-school look.
Method 2 of 3: Talking in an Outdated Style
Step 1. Use outdated slang
Look for slang that was commonly used thousands of years ago. Include it in your daily conversation, and if the other person doesn't understand, explain it to him. Say, "Sorry. That's a term used a lot in my day."
- The phrase "Crazy in the gray" means to expect the impossible.
- The phrase "Swelling in the Cold Ash" means getting nothing.
- If you're imitating a character from the United States, use " rain napper " instead of an umbrella.
Step 2. Include a little accent
As an immortal, you can come from another country or era. Try to adopt a bit of access from the selected time era.

Step 1. Create a background story to support your immortality
If you play the original character yourself, compose his origin story to be immortal. You can sneak in vague clues about your immortality through conversation. Take inspiration from various myths in the world to create your own background story.
- In 475 BC, Chinese alchemists believed that certain types of mushrooms could help humans live immortal. You could make a reference to “cursed mushrooms” and say that you “shouldn't have eaten them.”
- Elixirs of life have been formulated throughout the ages, and contain ingredients such as mercury and arsenic. Make references to drinks that contain these ingredients. For example, say "I wouldn't be standing here if it weren't for the perfect ratio of mercury to arsenic combination."
Step 2. Act like you have special knowledge
A person who lives eternally usually knows more than others. You've seen and experienced a lot of things over a very long lifetime and so tend to know more quickly how a course of events will end. Do things like guess the ending of the film and comment on human behavior.
- Try to be unaffected or surprised in the conversation. Maintain a neutral tone, regardless of other people's reactions, as if you've seen it all before hundreds of years ago.
- Say something like, "I've heard similar stories a thousand times. I'm not surprised anymore."
Step 3. Refer to the incident in great detail
Brush up on your history, or at least give it a sad look when someone brings it up. Learn about the history of the era your character came from and act as if you were attending the historical event in person. Relive in great detail, and add a touch of your fiction to the conversations that took place during historical battles, for example.
- For example, say you pretend you've been on the Titanic. Read books and watch documentaries about the Titanic and make detailed references as you tell stories.
- Talk about things as if you experienced them firsthand in the past. For example, tell of a time when you heard the news of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
Step 4. Be aloof
As immortals, friends always come and go. As such, it's natural for you to be a bit of a loner. Try to be quiet a lot and tend to be reluctant to make friends.
- Minimize physical contact. If another player offers a hug, return a cold handshake.
- Say, “All relationships always end. I don't want to get too attached."
Tips
- Tell me how curious what the next century will look like and you can't wait to see it. Make sure this is just a casual comment. Say that you are fed up with this annoying era.
- If you make a mistake when you recount historical events, frown and say "Everyone's got it wrong. Those books spread the wrong facts."
- Say you remember a historical event. For example, you could tell the story of the sinking of the Titanic by saying "Oh, yes, the Titanic. It was a really dark day. Everyone was talking about it!"
