Passwords are the most valuable thing you have in cyberspace, because they are the keys that protect your personal information from outsiders. Changing your password regularly will keep you safe and prevent information from being accessed by unauthorized persons. You can also change your password if you forget your password. Whatever your reason, read step 1 to change your Kik password, either through the app or on a computer.

Step 1. Log out of your Kik account if you are already logged in with that account
Tap the gear-shaped Settings button at the top of the app.
- Click the "Your Account" option to open the account settings. You can't change your password on this screen -- you'll need to tap “Reset Kik Messenger” at the bottom of the screen.
- As of the latest Kik update, this process will not delete your history.
Step 2. Tap the “Log In” button
Kik will ask for your username and password. Tap the “Forgot your password?” link. in the name and password field. You will be directed to a site that will allow you to enter your Kik account email address.
You can access the page to reset your Kik password on your computer at ws2.kik.com/p
Step 3. Check your email
After a few moments, you will receive an email from Kik with a link to change your password. Follow the link, and enter the password in the box provided twice to make sure it is entered correctly. After that, click "Go!".
