This wikiHow teaches you how to remove the Discord voice and text chat app from your computer.

Method 1 of 2: On Mac Computer
Step 1. Make sure Discord is not running in the background
If the app is still running in the background, errors may occur during the uninstallation process.
If you see the Discord icon in the menu bar in the upper-right corner of the screen, right-click the icon and select “ Quit Discord ”.
Step 2. Open the “Applications” folder on the computer
This folder contains all the applications and programs installed on the computer.
You can find the “Applications” folder in the Dock. You can also open Finder and press the shortcut Shift+⌘ Command+A on your keyboard to open it
Step 3. Locate the Discord app in the “Applications” folder
The Discord app looks like a white game pad icon inside a blue circle.
Step 4. Click and drag the Discord icon to the Trash icon
Move the Discord icon from the “Applications” folder and drop it into the trash icon (Trash).
You can delete any application on a Mac by dragging and dropping it onto the Trash icon
Step 5. Right-click the Trash icon
Look for the Trash icon in the Dock, and right-click it. A list of options will appear on the pop-up menu.
Step 6. Click Empty Trash on the pop-up menu
All content stored in the Trash will be permanently discarded. The Discord application will also be removed from the computer.
Method 2 of 2: On Windows Computer
Step 1. Make sure Discord is not running in the background
If the app is still running in the background, an error may occur in the uninstall process.
If you see the Discord icon on the taskbar in the lower-right corner of the screen, right-click the icon and select “ Quit Discord ”.
Step 2. Open the “Start” menu on the computer
Click the “Start” button in the lower-left corner of the screen to open the “Start” menu.
Step 3. Type and search for Apps & features in the “Start” menu
The Apps & features program will appear next to the gear icon, at the top of the “Start” menu.
On older versions of Windows, you may need to find and open the program Add or Remove Programs as a replacement for Apps & features program.
Step 4. Click Apps & features on the “Start” menu
The “Settings” window will open after that.
Step 5. Click the Search this list column
This column is below the “Apps & features” heading in the “Settings” window. Once clicked, you can type and search for programs on your computer.
Step 6. Type Discord into the search field
The Discord app will appear below the search field.
Step 7. Click the Discord app in the search results
The application will be marked on the list and the application options will be displayed.
Step 8. Click the Uninstall button
The Discord application will be removed from the computer afterwards.
You need to confirm the action on the pop-up window that appears
Step 9. Click Uninstall on the confirmation pop-up window
After that, the action will be confirmed and Discord will be removed from the computer.
