This wikiHow teaches you how to back up music on your iPhone or iPad to iCloud. If you subscribe to the Apple Music service, you can use your iCloud music library (iCloud Music Library) to perform backups.

Method 1 of 2: Backing Up Music to iCloud
Step 1. Open the iPhone or iPad settings menu (“Settings”)
Usually you can find this menu on the home screen.
If you want to back up songs from Apple Music, read this method
Step 2. Touch your Apple ID
The ID is displayed at the top of the menu.
Step 3. Touch iCloud
Step 4. Select iCloud Backup
Step 5. Slide the “iCloud Backup” switch to the on or “On” position
If the switch is already active or green, you can skip this step.
Step 6. Touch Backup Now
All data on your iPhone or iPad (including music) will be backed up to iCloud.
Method 2 of 2: Enabling iCloud Music Library for Apple Music Service
Step 1. Open the iPhone or iPad settings menu (“Settings”)
Usually you can find this menu on the home screen.
Step 2. Swipe the screen and touch Music
Step 3. Slide the “iCloud Music Library” switch to the on or “On” position
Several options will be displayed afterwards.
You'll only see this option if you've already subscribed to the Apple Music service
Step 4. Select Keep music
With this option, your music will be stored on your iPhone or iPad, even after it's been copied to iCloud. The content on your Apple Music account will be backed up to iCloud afterwards.
